Do attractive people have easier lives?
With Zac Efron, Emily Ratajkowski and Max Joseph due in the studio, Scott opened a discussion about whether exceptionally attractive people moved through life more easily. He imagined strangers offering them seats and employers trusting them immediately, while Chris questioned why anybody admitting they were hot would also be awake before seven.
Listeners confidently nominated themselves, and Scott admitted that he considered himself quite hot. Chris did not accept that description of himself but thought Scott was vain enough to mean it.
We Are Your Friends
Zac, Emily and director Max Joseph discussed We Are Your Friends, in which Zac played an ambitious electronic-music DJ. Max described moving from the compact filming style of Catfish to a full feature crew, although he still kept a small camera in his own hand whenever possible.
Zac had learned enough performance technique to look convincing behind the decks and could certainly jump around to a record, but stopped short of promising that a real concert would be good. Scenes involving dialogue sometimes required the background dancers to move without music, leaving extras to create the atmosphere in silence while the actors shouted at one another as if they were inside a club.
Scott teased Emily about the hardship of acting opposite Zac and asked whether the cast’s promotional photoshoots ever became uncomfortable. Max had spent so long filming and travelling with them that the three had become a temporary family by the time of the interview.
The silent man with Scott’s wallet
Scott received a Twitter message from a man claiming to have his wallet. He initially assumed it was a joke, then searched his bag and house and discovered that the wallet really had fallen from his pocket in the street.
The finder lived nearby and allowed Scott to collect it. Scott secretly recorded the handover because he knew Chris would doubt the story. Unfortunately, the man was a singer resting his voice and communicated by pointing, so the audio contained only Scott asking questions and answering himself.
Chris found this even less convincing. He also insisted that Scott return with a reward, while listeners warned that failing to thank the man properly would create an unflattering headline. The wallet was safely recovered before its owner had even noticed it was gone, which Scott considered an excellent result.
