Chris returns as Chris Pasty
Chris was back in the studio after two weeks in Bali. His first task was to reverse the Twitter name “Chris Pasty”, created after the bogus telephone call inviting him to open Nellie’s bakery in Sheffield.
He also heard the Fandango’s call again and learned that his helpful out-of-office had included his personal number. Chris questioned whether Scott would be equally relaxed if the arrangement were reversed, planting an idea that would matter later in the week.
A password reset becomes a photoshoot
Chris had forgotten his work password and could not answer the security question about his first pet. The helpdesk asked for a photograph of his BBC pass beside something proving the current date.
Unable to find a clock, he used the October 2014 issue of FHM. He first sent a picture of himself pointing at it, despite not needing to appear in the image. When Nick Grimshaw passed, Chris added him as celebrity proof that he genuinely worked at Radio 1.
Grimmy’s enthusiastic thumbs-up obscured the pass, forcing a third attempt. Nearly two hours into the working day, a clear photograph of the pass against the magazine finally restored access.
Celebrities deliver any message
The show revisited a service that sold personalised videos from familiar television and radio personalities. Ordinary birthday greetings were useful, but Scott had submitted fictional people and more difficult requests to discover where the celebrities drew the line.
One recorded a resignation message for an invented employee. Sinitta agreed to tell a fictional man that his girlfriend knew about his affair, never wanted to see him again and disliked his breath. The names and relationships were false, but the performers believed they were delivering genuine life-changing news.
Chris watches Strictly at last
Poor Wi-Fi in Bali meant Chris had not seen Scott’s launch performance. Back in London, he watched the group dance and immediately questioned why Scott began behind DJ equipment while the other celebrities danced.
He heard Judge Rinder’s critique, learned that Joanne Clifton really had wanted Scott as her partner and promised to become a campaign manager when public voting began. The first live dance was only days away.
Ella Henderson returned after her Live Lounge for Real or No Real. Scott remembered the power of her previous Bingo performance and wondered whether her growing success would now prevent another demonstration of fitting her fist into her mouth.
