James and Tom from Deaf Havana arrived already familiar with Innuendo Bingo and immediately suggested taking the game on tour as their support act. Scott imagined an arena audience joining in with water, although the inevitable health-and-safety paperwork had previously prevented student shows from trying it.
James’s famously loud laugh made him an ideal contestant. Clips involving builders, wrestling, pancake tossing, a blue vein, a “bum hole” and several pieces of accidental sports commentary quickly soaked both players. The band’s enthusiasm, and James’s inability to disguise what he found funny, made it one of the show’s most energetic games.
Scott and Chris liked the result enough to suggest that Deaf Havana deserved a regular place in the feature. Their song “22” followed, with the important clarification that it was not a Taylor Swift cover.
What should Chris inspect at Beyoncé?
Chris was going to see Beyoncé that evening. Rather than simply accepting the widespread claim that she was flawless, the show asked listeners who had already attended the tour to identify details he should examine.
Suggestions covered the scale of the staging, Jay-Z’s appearance and the moment involving a chair. Scott wanted a proper report rather than another declaration that Beyoncé was perfect, while Chris prepared to judge whether the supposedly effortless production contained any visible faults.
An overheard train argument offered a less glamorous relationship story. A man conducted a loud phone row with his partner while fellow passengers tried to infer what had gone wrong, demonstrating how easily a private dispute could turn into carriage entertainment.
S-Dosser’s biggest track yet
Chris’s friend S-Dosser had sent a new master called “Hashtag”. Scott listened in bed and decided it could be the record that transformed him, following “Bish Bash Bosch” and “Hanging in the Morning”. S-Dosser’s name was not merely an alias: it was tattooed on his arm.
The track explained when to use hashtags, from posting a photograph and describing a drink to telling the world about a night out. Its repeated chorus lodged itself immediately in listeners’ heads. Scott thought a better microphone might be the main thing separating the homemade recording from a convincing commercial release.
Charlie Sloth joined Real or No Real on Shrove Tuesday. The world record for simultaneous pancake tossing really belonged to the University of Sheffield, but a spray designed to stop legs sticking to skinny jeans was invented. Iceland really did mark the day by eating salted meat and peas until full, giving it a name translated as “Bursting Day”. Scott and Charlie finished level on twenty points.
