Beccy wins the new game Slip It In by saying “moist” 65 times
Harrygate was still being discussed after Scott’s fake Harry Styles number experiment spread well beyond the programme. A community support officer stopped Scott in the street to say the stunt was hilarious, while the show replayed some of the messages left by listeners who had tried to sound cool, or had simply screamed at what they thought was Harry’s voicemail.
Chris then introduced a new phone game with an unfortunate title: Slip It In. Each member of the team had to call a friend and work a chosen word into the conversation as many times as possible before being challenged. That day’s word was “moist”, which none of them pretended to enjoy saying.
Chris went first, calling his friend Dan Perkins and introducing himself as “Moist Chris”, before attempting phrases including “a very quick moist catch-up” and “a few moist shirts”. He managed four uses, but his lack of a remotely plausible explanation made it clear that a better tactic was needed.
Scott called his friend Mike and tried to slip the word into a normal conversation about the previous night. He reached four as well, but lost the game the moment he asked whether Mike was going to be “moist” in November. Mike immediately asked why he kept saying it, ending the attempt.
Beccy took a radically less subtle approach. She repeatedly inserted “moist” into her call with Ian, then kept going because he was amused rather than suspicious. By the time he finally asked why she was saying it, she had reached 65 uses, leaving Scott and Chris to admit that the original rules had not anticipated anyone simply battering through the word that many times.
