beccyxmas.jpgAs we heard on the show Beccy has been trying to turn the Christmas lights on in Bridgwater where she grew up during her college years. That bid has now come one step closer since the team have been on holiday.
The local newspaper reports that (surprisingly!) over 2,000 people took part in their online poll after it was mentioned on-air and they received a positive result about her switching on their Christmas lights.
Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger pledged her support and now the local council are fully on board with the idea.
Steve Leahy organising the event stated: “There are small logistical matters to sort out and there will be further meetings to finalise a few bits and pieces.
“The event we are putting on is an attempt to drive shoppers back into Bridgwater and the switch-on is seen as a really good venture to show that we can do this.”
The event takes place on November 24th 2010.
