Blossoms' Tom and Joe popped up on the show after "Songs From The Wedding Cake" landed at number one, their third chart-topping album together with Jack. Tom explained the record had a more "in-house" feel this time, working with a new producer and shooting all the videos themselves on film, saying "it feels like a very in-house record." Joe added that the pressure of hitting number one was "the cherry on top," before Tom joked his celebration plans might involve treating himself to some of Kim Kardashian's pricey skincare boxes, while the rest of the band were heading home to Stockport for drinks with friends and family.
At the business end of the chart, it was another tight race for the top spot. Taylor Swift's "Patient Zero" held on to number one for a second week running, just pipping Sienna Spyro's "Great Expectation" at number two. Jack reported listeners were split down the middle on WhatsApp over who deserved the crown, with texts flooding in backing both songs.
Elsewhere, Jack ran his usual "number one of the week" call-out, with listeners sharing their personal wins: Luke in Derbyshire fixed his mum's shower himself after a plumber quoted £900, and Felix celebrated getting a free VIP upgrade for Arsenal v Leeds tickets with his dad.
