26 November 2008: Scott campaigned for Muppet Week on The X Factor

The X Factor needed Muppet Week

Scott decided the talent show would be improved by giving contestants songs associated with the Muppets. The programme treated the proposal like a legitimate production idea and explored how performers might cope with material far removed from the normal big-ballad template.

A lift voice sounded suspiciously famous

A voice heard in a lift was claimed to be Judi Dench, prompting an investigation into whether such a prestigious actor really had been recruited for an everyday announcement. The possibility was enough to make a routine lift journey feel like a celebrity encounter.

Westwood joined University Challenge by editing

The show also played with University Challenge audio, inserting Westwood into the academic format for the collision of styles. A street question asking people to choose between their dad and chips provided an even less intellectual dilemma, completing a day of placing familiar formats in contexts where they clearly did not belong.
