12 November 2008: Leona Lewis was offered Scott’s new song “Love Handles”

Scott had written for Leona Lewis

Leona joined the show and was presented with Love Handles, a song the team had created with her in mind. The title alone made its prospects as a serious album track doubtful, but Scott treated the pitch with enough confidence to keep the joke alive.

The interview moved into ordinary life

Leona’s relationship and life away from the stage were discussed alongside the song. Scott enjoyed the contrast between a major singer with enormous hits and the programme offering her a homemade track called Love Handles as though the obvious next career step had just been found.

Bob the Builder met Barack Obama

What’s Occurring? used clips involving Barack Obama, horse racing and television, while Bob the Builder was put on the phone and asked to name tools in 30 seconds. Obama’s “Yes we can” line made the connection irresistible. Scott also admitted feeling sorry for celebrities sitting alone at book signings and claimed he would be tempted to buy almost any book simply to stop the scene looking sad.
