Scott Cam reached its final day
The home experiment ended with six cameras covering Scott’s flat. After several days of watching meals, messages and ordinary domestic behaviour, the programme needed a suitably unnecessary finale.
A portable sauna arrived
The answer was a steam sauna which could be set up inside the home. Chappers climbed in, turning a normal living room into something between a health spa and a low-budget television challenge. The visual absurdity was ideal for a feature which had always depended on listeners being able to see what radio presenters normally kept private.
The show kept the public involved
A dog-related guessing game, Barry Chuckle material and another Pete Tong three-word survey ran alongside the final webcam scenes. Scott Cam ended not with a dramatic revelation but with the programme having proved that a radio show could make content out of a flat, a camera and a presenter with nowhere to hide.
