29 September 2008: Scott Cam was announced after Head Cam exposed an awkward text deletion

Head Cam caught a private reaction

The danger of wearing a camera around the office became real when Scott received a message from an old contact, read it and deleted it while making a face. The sender had been watching online and could see the reaction, turning what would normally have been an invisible moment into an awkward social incident.

Beccy Cam prepared to bow out

The success of the desk webcam had created pressure for a bigger follow-up. The show treated its retirement almost like a press event, acknowledging that watching Beccy work had somehow become part of the programme rather than a background extra.

Scott Cam moved the cameras home

Scott announced that cameras would be installed around his home, including the kitchen, lounge and bedroom, with the bathroom sensibly excluded. His flatmate would inevitably become part of the experiment too. Matching pyjamas and domestic habits were already being discussed before the cameras had properly begun, suggesting that the privacy implications were not going to slow anybody down.
