4 December 2008: Beccy chose a half-ton lighthouse beacon for Christmas

Beccy joined from her sick bed

Beccy had been sent home ill but still became part of What’s Occurring? remotely. Being absent from the office did not protect her from the show’s games or from having previous promises brought back to her.

Scott’s classified promise became expensive and heavy

Among the festive listings was a lighthouse beacon weighing roughly half a ton and costing around £1,900. Beccy chose it as the item she wanted after Scott’s earlier offer to buy something from the classifieds, immediately exposing the danger of making open-ended promises on air.

Moustaches and mince-pie candles competed for attention

Movember prompted a discussion of men who genuinely suited moustaches, with Tom Selleck an obvious reference point. The listings also contained dozens of mince-pie candles, but a small scented novelty never had much chance once Beccy had discovered industrial maritime equipment for Christmas.
