Good afternoon, it’s Wednesday, and it’s time for another daily review. Remember if you want to review one of the shows each week and help me out during the busy college terms, just send me an e-mail…
Scott was feeling great today as Edith had a hangover from the Mercury Award ceremony, and he didn’t. And after yesterday’s impressions, Zane Lowe had what Scott called a ‘rubbish impression’ of the lord himself, but Chappers thinks it’s actually better than Scott’s.
Another report of the Darren catchphrase which is sweeping the nation, and even the world. Today Michaela visited Cue Gardens and left ‘we ate the food, drank the wine, and we did the right thing’ in the guest book. Keep it coming folks.
Egg On Your Face
Chappers has a new game known as ‘egg on your face’. It even comes with a jingle as sung by Chopper, just like Charlotte Church’s new chat show. The game is quite straight-forward. There’s six eggs – two are hard-boiled and two aren’t. You just need to pick up one of the hard-boiled eggs and hope you don’t end up with yolk on your face when you hit it against your head. Laura was up first and lady luck wasn’t with her, she picked up the raw egg. Five eggs later and it was Scott than picked up the second raw egg. And boy he wasn’t happy, he had egg in his hair, on his shirt, and on his face. What a diva. But it seems Chopper hasn’t had to go far for this gameshow. Listeners told Scott theyd seen it on Big Breakfast, Reggie’s show, the spin-off from Love Island and…
Scott: “Club 18-30… not that you’ve been on one of them for a while”
(Team laughs)
Chappers: “Just because you’ve got egg in your hair, no need to get bitchy”
There’s a video online here at Radio 1 Online.
Falling on death ears…
Scott went to a funeral of someone he knew very well, in the only suit he has, looking quite somber. Scott didn’t get the e-mail which was sent out, telling all it was a dress-down funeral. It was very bizzare though. The first speaker was a magician and made gags about sawing a coffin in half with a saw. This led Scott to talk about your funerals. Not that Scott’s one to put a downer on your day…
One caller wanted a shinny coffin wrapped in shinny paper, with disco balls, and it’d be a movie-character fancy dress funeral. One caller’s dad requested that everyone had a funny hat, and his coffin was carried out to ‘Simply The Best’ by Tina Turner. Another wants the last song of his cremation service to be ‘eternal flame’, whilst Scott’s flatmate would like to have a video of himself at the funeral giving them a final message, asking if they’re enjoying the funeral.
Rate My Listener
Scott thinks some new themed Rate My Listeners should be done. 40 plus for the older listeners, barely legal – involving those gradiuated from law school, and sister’s week. One caller suggested a themed week of just legs – no actual bodies, if you’ve got a fetish and want Scott to cover it why not e-mail him?
Also today The Killers competition went a bit Pete Tong, with two of the three callers going away with 0 tickets. And Chappers and Scott were highly amused by this YouTube video.
Tomorrow catch Derek The Baby Mindreader on the show from 4pm.
