It’s been a busy week of exams for all of us, but I’ve put together some of the highlights of the show.
Laura’s New Obsession
Scott walked into the office today to find Laura had her headphones on – but what was she listening to? It wasn’t McFly, the Best of One Night With Laura Podcasts, or the new album by Death Cab for Cutie (she’s going indie since she met James). No, it was Susan Jeffers – Feel the fear and do it anyway. This tape is apparently about being scared of things in life, and feeling your power and using your power to get over it but as usual with the Scott Mills show, things sound dodgier than they actually are!

Random Act of Kindness
Marha gave Scott a call about her boyfriend of three years, Nick. Marha’s mother passed away quite recently, and even though he’d been suffering from depression, and despite being on anti-depressants it’s made things worse. But he’s always been there for Marha. When Marha’s mother died, he drove all the way from Manchester to her house to pick her up. She wanted Scott to help her show how much she loves him. So Scott gave Nick a call. He seemed a bit confused as to why Scott was calling, but had a feeling it was to do with Marha as it was their anniversary this week. Despite tonnes of exams (I know the feeling) Scott gave Nick and Marha tickets to an exclusive Charlotte Church gig.
Sugababes
Scott had the Sugababes in today as they were pottering around Radio 1 HQ. He got them to participate in an prank call. Keisha called HMV in Hull to ask them to try and name a song that she was having problems trying to name. The woman in HMV finally named it as the Sugababes’ latest track, and recommended the album. Keisha wanted to know if it was good as the Girls Aloud album. But which would did the woman prefer? The poor woman wasn’t in to that music at all, but prefered the Sugababes. She said they were probably all written by the same person anyway. That was the point they finally owned up it was all a joke, and the lady now known as ‘Claire’ was a good sport.
You knew him so well…
Yesterday Scott had James and Laura on to find out how well they know each other. Chappers reckons all blokes aren’t programmed to know the finer details about girls. Alison has known her boyfriend Glyn for 14 years (which makes them about 31) and through destiny got together a year ago. They’re getting married in 7 weeks, but she’s worried her boyfriend doesn’t know enough about her. Glyn and Chappers agrees their love should be enough, without needing to know these minor details. Alison wants Glyn to know 3 out of 5 of these answers that the marriage would be off. Thankfully he identified three correct answers – her roast dinners are her speciality, her feet are size 7, and her favourite film is Pretty Woman. There were still two incorrect answers though, so there’s still room for improvement!
