Good afternoon, it's Tuesday and we're in March these days! The big man has returned to the Unofficial Mills reviews section, and after the success of my newspaper column I thought it was time to spread some of my magic in my main specialist area – the Scott Mills show. Thank you to Ema for yesterday's review; let's get on with the first review of the week.
Chappers had continued updates from the Wankhede Stadium (and still couldn't do the news seriously when mentioning it!) but I gather there's a lot of action going on there. And in other sports news, Scott was discussing JK in The Games. He felt disgusted seeing JK on the TV in his trunks.
One Night With Laura
Laura's Diary
Despite the wackiness of Laura's Diary last night Scott wants everyone to bear with the show when considering One Night with Laura. He was begging listeners not to pull out of ONWL or they'll be on a bus next week going around the country with no one to see. As funny as that sounds those moaning license fee payers will have a field day, so don't cancel! And apparently it's a huge effort for Scott to take you off the paper work.
She gives away tenners… but is still unlucky in love?!
A lady on the streets…
Yesterday Scott was walking rather fast down the road near Radio 1 and a bloke ran up to Scott asking if he'd dropped a tenner. Sure enough Scott had and Scott was very impressed. So Scott decided he'd send out Laura with some of Chappers' money to get her to see how honest people are. Scott got quite a lot of stories from texters who'd been in similar situations and been honest, so it's proof Mills listeners are good people! The first person she asked said he hadn't dropped any cash, the second checked, but claimed she hadn't dropped the money. The third said he had dropped the money when he blatantly hadn't dropped it. By this time Chappers was getting annoyed with Laura's Chegwin antics and went off to claim his money. So the plan changed – Laura asked them if they'd dropped the money and Chappers was supposed to say it was his. But the fourth guy took the money and quickly ran into his office. They want to try and track down this bald small guy that works in the office and get the money back. Listen in tomorrow to see if it goes any further…
In New Music Scott Trusts
Scott played a new track from Lorraine – a new band from Norway – but there was mixed reaction. I personally liked it, quite a summery tune, but a lot of people were hoping for Lorraine Kelly and some would rather have 'keish lorraine' and they don't even like meat. It was very mixed on the text messages, but you might just grow to like it.
Laura's Diary
Recently Laura's started work at Subcity Radio broadcasting in Glasgow and Ben wants to hear some tapes of her on the radio (he should have heard it by now). There was much discussion on teletubbies in last night's diary entry, and she was off to buy a plant. Today's entry comes from a rather worse of wear Mary, from 8th November 1997. It was National Hangover Day, and Laura couldn't make it in to lectures. Ben and Jenny seemed to be getting rather close, and Laura was questioning him about that on the phone. He wasn't happy speaking to her. He wanted changes, and she joked about her accent. He was starting to sound like her dad, and she was feeling a million times worse. She's started talking to the diary today, but for some reason it isn't answering back. I wonder why?
