  1. I've seen a few downloads where I haven't noticed it was filmed in the cinema till someone got up and walked across the screen. I have never bought a pirate DVD though. I don't think mobile quality video will really be a threat. Are there phones now which can record for 2 hours without the card getting full and the battery dying? I can rarely tell what's happening in videos I make on my mobile.
  2. But surely there's more people watching on Twitter? I use Facebook to talk to my uni friends and because we all put our photos up there and tag each other's photos and comment on them. I changed my profile though so only my friends can see it.
  3. To be fair, for an ITV 2 celeb programme, anyone watching it would only be doing so because they'd fallen asleep and managed to change channel to ITV2 in their sleep.
  4. I think the Kasabian album is really good, not a bad track on there. Can never tell though with the Mercury music prize. Sometimes it goes to someone mainstream, other times to someone no one's really heard of before. I have heard of nearly all of these apart form Speech Debelle and Led Bib but haven't heard many of the albums in full.
  5. Be strong, from what you've said, it sounds like you've done the right thing, so don't go crawling back to him. It's another rainy grey day in Croydon and my friends are all dispersed around the country still and I miss them. Things are never going to be as good as they have been in the last 10 months or so when we were all living near each other. Coming to terms with uni being over isn't going to be easy. Also my stomach hurts whenever I eat, stupid IBS.
  6. Normal flu jabs only involve one needle - from what I understand, they pick the most likely looking flu virus for that season and vaccinate people against that one.
  7. That's what I meant to say I think. An emergency exit seat, not just a window seat. Unfortunately, I didn't pay for the extra legroom option, and didn't get any sleep when I flew over night, which is why I didn't make much sense when I posted in this thread. Nice to see you on the site, anyway. Got any good airline-related stories?
  8. I fixed my camera with a spray can of air, and, I got the can of air for a fiver, when it was £13 in Maplin and £17 in Jessops.
  9. Do you run on a hard floor? I found I couldn't do the running on it because we had laminate wood flooring in the living room and it really hurt my feet to run barefoot, if I wore socks I fell over and if I wore trainers it made so much noise my housemates thought I was doing DIY! I hope your feet recover soon. What sucks is that I'm stuck here in Croydon and I hate it and I miss all my friends so much. I've done nothing useful today and my stomach really hurts.
  10. Happy birthday and long time no see on here.
  11. Some of my friends have stolen some weird things while drunk. My friend went into the Halls she used to live in when she was in first year and found that the person living in the room she used to live in had left the door unlocked, so she went in and stole a t-shirt belonging to the guy. I only found out about this recently, it's a pretty bad thing to do. People used to steal all kinds of weird things when we were in Halls - signs, fire extinguishers, shoes... anything they could. The documents the agency sent us about leaving our house went into a lot of detail about how to leave the house "Clear cellars and gardens of all bikes, rubbish and traffic cones." - they know students all too well.
  12. I'm no longer a student and am stuck living in Croydon indefinitely. I don't have any friends round here and I've got used to just being able to wander round to friends' houses in Nottingham. I was very sad to leave my lovely house in Nottingham for the last time earlier today and I'm going to miss so many things about Nottingham. I may just have to move back there, London's too expensive and big and there's too many unfriendly people. Also hangovers suck. My housemate drank far too much and was throwing up so getting her home wasn't very easy or pleasant. She was still really ill at lunch time today, it's not good. I was drunker than I realise and had to apologise to a male friend for groping him very inappropriately because he stole my shoes. It did work - I got my shoes back, and he wasn't too bothered, I was just a bit embarrassed. Also I fell over and bruised my hip and it really hurts.
  13. Those of you who are regular readers of this forum may know that my relationship with my parents is less than perfect. However, in the last couple of days, I feel that they've actually been really good to me and things have gone well. Yesterday, I donned the oversize black bat outfit, coloured hood thing and silly hat that wouldn't stay on my head and got up on stage and collected my degree certificate from a man in a very silly hat. It feels strange to be a graduate. Helpfully, it rained all day. I'll post a photo of me in the silly get-up when I get them off my dad's camera. Last night we went out. I managed to drink a lot more than I realised somehow and did some silly things but it was good fun. I didn't sleep much and this morning I felt terrible when my parents turned up to take my stuff home. They didn't seem too bothered that I was very hungover and helped me to pack all the remaining junk and also did some house cleaning for us. It's nice that they took some time off being introspective and worrying only about themselves and actually helped me out as proper parents. For those of you who don't know the situation, my mother is acting increasingly like a stroppy toddler and makes her health issues everyone else's problems. Normally I feel more like I'm parenting them
  14. Do you want to come round here? The only carpet in the house is on the stairs but I think it's only actually been cleaned once in the past year. What rocks is that my cleaning responsibilities are pretty much sorted. Also I am graduating tomorrow which must be good in some way. The graduation ceremony is being shown online and will be watchable again in the style of iPlayer  just hoping I don't trip up on stage! My housemate said he'll buy a DVD of it if I do something stupid. Also I applied for an internship which doesn't pay but pays expenses for next month and I'm having a telephone interview next week. I've just got to try to sound confident on the telephone.
  15. Today I have to clean and pack up my house, tomorrow I graduate and Saturday I leave I don't want to leave and I don't want to be officially unemployed. My housemate has just hit the 300 mark for job applications in the past 3 months and hasn't been invited for a single interview. I also don't want to be stuck living at home with my crazy parents, they're getting worse and worse and I can't cope with them.
  16. Belated Happy Birthday, hope you enjoy going back to Newbury!
  17. I saw them 2 weeks ago today, and they were still good. A little rounder than in the good ol' days but the saxophonist was flying above the stage Pantomine-style which was pretty impressive. They're playing Nottingham next weekend as well.
  18. I thought this thread would be about an impromptu Madness gig at an airport somewhere. Most disappointing. Monarch already offer people the option of upgrading to a window seat. I flew with them this morning. Ryanair already charge you to put baggage in the hold, isn't that enough to pay for baggage handlers and whatever? I don't see how it can ever be safe to have people standing on planes for take-off, landing and turbulence.
  19. Interesting... I've been enjoying 40 degree heat all week, would have been pretty ironic to return to Gatwick this morning and find melting snow. I guess it's just a mistake, someone pressed the wrong button or something.
  20. Happy birthday, hope you had a really good one. Now you can get into those bars that are over 21 only and escape all the annoying teenagers!
  21. Happy birthday Grace. Sounds like you had a really good evening with Jimmy Carr
  22. Bloody health and safety. They never had cages around in my day. If you were stupid enough to fall off, tough luck. The kids next door have one with a bloody great net around it. My friend had one similar to this http://www.cpsc.gov/cpscpub/prerel/prhtml09/09732a.jpg when we were little. I imagine an adult trying to jump on that would break it rather than reaching a height greater than they could jump without the help of the trampoline.
  23. They never really can diagnose influenza from symptoms though, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Influenza-like_illness they just diagnose it as probable. So they probably couldn't tell whether you had the H1N1 swine flu virus or another type of flu virus. Either way though, antibiotics wouldn't have helped. One of my friends got flu while he was at Download festival, he didn't really see anyone else while he had it though except his friend who also had it. I saw him when he was mostly over it but he didn't think it was worth seeing a doctor about which is good because if he'd been diagnosed they would have stopped me and my other friends going to Glastonbury because we'd been in contact with him! Hope you feel better soon Jono.
  24. Oh actually... I'll have a pool for a week from Saturday, and the sea. Just got to not get sunburn, that'll be quite a challenge.
