  1. It is always good radio - I wonder if the 9am finish is a start point - we know that Katie is on the chart and we know Matt and Mollie are planning something for it, last time in 2019 it was due to be 24hrs and Greg was due to cover for Scott on the day after however they continued until 4 and made it 27, the same as 2017 when they started at 4 after their own show I reckon 9am is the minimum, and they will actually go to 4pm Friday making it 31
  2. I defo think they are better at lunch time and Adele is perfect on weekend breakfast As regards to lunchtimes in general, I think and maintain that Scott and Chris will end up on nights on Radio 2 with Trevor taking the Ken slot, meaning Scott can keep the chart Friday afternoon and be general cover for R2 daytime like Trevor is Then M&M to weekday lunchtimes Monday to Friday, Jordan to drive Grimmy to one of the weekend shows maybe the 10-1 slot with someone new on th2 1-4 Sat and Sun slot
  3. I think it has to be a marathon event I am going with - 10 years almost to the month of the 52hr show so I reckon they (Scott, Chris and Greg) are going for something like 70 hours maybe Start on Breakfast on Wednesday and finish at 4pm Friday for the chart to start with Kaite and Vick ?
  4. Lol indeed - It is ten years since the 52 hour show - maybe it's an attempt at that Scott Chris and Greg together?

Maybe they have an absolute time marker like Myriad does and Playoutone

It's a very manual operation then compared to something like Myriad where if it's set right stick it into auto during the last song upto the news news in plays and it connects to the news service - one station I work at you have to fade up Sky News as the news in plays and you have a selection of ramps of the stations theme in different tempos to play upto the news for backtiming, varying between 15 secs and 45 secs I know other stations that use RNH bulletins that are dropboxed and then auto imported into a track about 5 to the hour, so they are less important to hit time dead on as the news is pre recorded as such

I assume each presenter logs in and it brings up their cart wall and settings? how does stuff like the ten minute take over work? and the faders are push to start? also can the configure the faders for each presenter or are their outputs set
  8. And Rosin working on Fridays now as well she didn't before
  9. She was very this is that was and coming up at 7 is
  10. I Love that station, and having Jam on it is even better, it seems he's allowed more links and voice than any other global station, or show apart from Moyles maybe? certainly loads more links that you'd get on heart or Capital I wonder if he negotiated that - looks like hes off for a week now wonder who is covering The station is clearly a success as it has a breakfast show now which is a good sign

Interesting, try to see how to use it you have to log in Bring me to a related question - how do R1 and R2 etc voice track shows - so in Myriad and PlayoutOne for example the log is built and you log in from home or at the studio click on the song you want to talk out of and into and click record you hear the last few secs of outgoing music, then do your link, play a bed, or hit play on the next track and talk over the intro etc How do they do that at R1? do they do that? or do they just sit and literally record a whole show as if was live If they do record a whole show as if live how do they get the metadata on screen surely the show is one track in itself for 58 mins ? Anthems and Party Anthems are pre mixed by the music team on something like Audition i suspect? as one track, so for Greg 1000-1030 is one 30 min track and Jordan gets one 28 min track, for 1032 - 1100, so how does that work? If I pre record a show for instance I have to send it to the station as 6 20 min chunks or parts to fir in round the ads and news etc I reckon someone here will know
  12. Adele is weekend Breakfast - I can see that being Vick Hope solo
  13. I would love an ask Aled chat, I wonder if he'd do a zoom meeting for an hour? I had never thought that they had plans like that for Scott - he hasn't covered much Radio 2 since the summer? but yes, maybe the plan was to have him as the "main" R2 cover pre Covid
  14. Thanks for the insight guys - What I have never understood, is why they stopped using Scott for Breakfast? I know COVID was very different and we saw him on again, but why stop using Scott in 2019 to cover Breakfast when he always has? Just don't get the thinking
  15. Here is a question for you @Lily Georgia how do they decide who covers who? do the DJs have to "book" leave like any other job, and then someone in a roster department finds cover? I assume you have to be deemed a competent to cover that slot for instance we have never seen Clara cover breakfast unless it has been part of a bigger event, or Arielle cover drive although I assume they could if they were the only option? Say someone like Greg decides he is having the day off "Sick" or short notice like Grimmy used to a bit, then who makes the phone calls to cover the show?
  16. I would love to know what 1X does
  17. I definitely recommend trying a community radio station, I work for three all as a volunteer one is border line as @DC says almost like a commercial station, one is what I would call "tin pot" and some of the output is shocking, and one is going through a lot of change at the moment but fully engaging the presenters with it All three have adapted very very well to the pandemic, and have assisted setting presenters up for home broadcasting, and are doing so again with lockdown "3" in place, be that voice tracking, recording, or live, and if you are fortunate enough like me to have your own kit one better many of the playout systems (Myriad and Playout 1 for example) allow "live" from home, or if you are about for your time slot, then you can voice track it as "almost live" recording the link a few minutes before it goes out There are also off air roles at some stations - CR stations always have off air jobs to be done, although I find the program managers are very possessive over this task, and rightly so like to have control over what music is scheduled and goes in, and what order it goes in etc there is also production (promos, adverts etc), news prep (scripts, recording local news etc etc), organising interviews (gathering guests and setting them up with a show, and at the moment getting them connected (cleanfeed is BRILLIANT)), websites (design, upkeep, house keeping, managing a corner of etc etc), health and safety duties etc etc At all the stations I work for the presenters don't just come in do a show and go, they clean, house keep, get involved with outside stuff and social media channels etc I must say, one of the BEST investments I made recently, as proved with the Radio 1 DJs and recommended by Stuart Clarkson (he recommended it to Scott & Chris for home broadcasting) is the RODEcaster pro - it can do all sorts of fancy things play jingles beds etc its like having your own home radio station coupled with the right playout software
  18. I like Greg too, and Dance Anthems The trouble with Scotts show, its too music heavy, if they lessened the "3 in a row" and gave him more time (I am sure he is restricted on link / feature times) then it would be better still He is currently in a waiting room for a slot on R2, I reckon next to retire Trevor Nelson will be on daytime and Scott will get the night time slot
  19. Mike Wooller covered in August 2015 and did the usual features inc push the tempo future anthem and in the mix Scott covered in Jan 2013, looks like he didn't do the features, just bac2back anthems like a Party Anthems show with what was in the system Looking back at the Friday edition, during 2009/10/11 quite a few times "Ready for the weekend" or "Floor Fillers" was covered by others quite a bit, Greg covered most of the time, and Dev, Sara and Vernon as well, there is a four week period in 2010, so I wonder if that was two weeks Scott covered breakfast and then had his own leave I know he was covering for Moyles before he shot the programme about staying with the Hoff as he went from R1 to Heathrow for the flight
  20. Did Greg and Scott not cover for him a few times?
  21. I totally agree with the leaving Adele where she is, BUT and a massive but... she has been on earlies since 2015 5 years I know the start time has moved to 5am so she can get up effectively an hour later, however as a shift worker myself, I know what a toll 3/4 4am starts can have on me, so how she does it daily, and being the person she is she was actually up around 2am, and often going out for a run etc before work, going to bed at 6/7pm most nights, must all take it's tole So as much as I'd like her to stay, she deserves a lie in, and weekend breakfast (if I was her) is a happy medium, means she can now get up at 5/530am twice a week, it doesn't really ruin a weekend and it leaves her open to be able to cover weekday slots What will be interesting is A. who'll be the cover for Dance Anthems now Charlie who became the cover is now the host, will we see Arielle covering or will we see one of the weekday presenters covering? I'd love to see Scott do a shift covering it or Greg
  22. Here's a question, when it was Greg's drive show before the chart, on a Friday Scott used to do Floorfillers or ready for the weekend, but what did Greg do in the 6-7 Friday slot ? I know it was branded as Dance Anthems on Friday when the chart came in was it that before though
  23. that will be a pre record I bet
