I got a pencil with a faded BBC logo, got in touch, and they sent me a BBC pin badge, a pen and a mug. So perhaps do the same. 

Update: I just tried washing up the mug and the handle broke off in my hand. Ffs.

Guess who's just bagged himself a Radio 1 mug and pen from NBH (and I think saw Ali Plumb wander past as well)? 
To clarify, I didn't just go to NBH to stalk Radio 1 DJs and buy obscenely expensive Radio 1 tat, I did have tickets to see a show being recorded (which I ultimately didn't. Oh well.).

Got one of those pin badges on my folder for school just to make me happy again and to keep me from falling asleep...

There are also Radio 1 pin badges, lanyards and pens. Although, when you already have an actual blue Radio 1 lanyard that they used to use, well, you don't need the BBC Shop 

Ahh, Capital Yorkshire! Their intro jingles were fantastic, and most of their content was great too. During their show, it seemed as though Capital was on in almost every building and car in Yorkshire and they always had some great ideas (see below!). A real fantastic team spirit - and commercial radio that actually envied the BBC. 
I listened every morning before being converted to BBC Radio 1 by an old friend (to whom I am eternally grateful). Consistently good radio. A lot of their stuff is on SoundCloud, including full length podcasts. 
I went to huge lengths to be featured - once texting in at the age of 12 to say "I've just looked over my wife's shoulder and she's texting another man. What do I do?". Lo and behold, moments later it was the discussion of an entire link. A real mastermind at 12, me.
 

Been dipping in and out over half term. Scott's excellent, every show feels like a show.
It shows that they're really at the top of their game - but really, that's how every show on Radio 1 should be - envied by other presenters, unattainable fun with equally unattainable listening figures. 
 

I agree the internet takeover was utter rubbish! BUT look back at the time Dan & Phil did Sunday evenings, they were fantastic! Dan especially, look at the likes of Cel Spellman, he's a great TV presenter but isn't made for radio, that's the show I think Dan & Phil should take

The record of the week feature had been going years, Scott used to have it on his old 4-7 timeslot, even going as far back as Mark & Lard they used to champion groups like Radiohead and Kings of Leon (before Sex on Fire) on ROTW. It's better than track of the day, granted the DJ's have actually had a say in picking their choice.

Keep MistaJam on weeknights, move Dan P Carter to 6Music or something and get Annie back on Fridays and Sunday nights. Then bring either Dan and Phil or Jack and Dean or even Jordan North on 9-10 on Thursdays.

I agree, I think Annie's great but not right for that show, Jam is way better at Mon-Thur 7-9, Danny can go back to just saturdays cause he's a bit meh, and I'd like Annie to do more daytime stuff as she's a great presenter but way more suited to daytimes somewhere! Also, time for the rock show to bugger off so we can have Dan & Phil back! 
 

Even weekly podcasts for Greg and Grimmy are much less than they used to be. Grimmy only has enough content to fill half an hour for the whole week. Gregs is now only 50 mins when it used to last well over an hour.

Scott's podcast is only around 25-35 minutes a day for a three hour show these days, whereas it was verging on an hour two or three years ago.

As I mentioned in the chatbox, Bauer stations are broadcasting the brits this year, between 7 and 11pm, I believe they may have snagged exclusive radio rights to it for the next few years. As I type this, Alice and Clara from R1 are on ITV2 doing the red carpet show, which I think is just pre recorded interviews and some montages.
Update: Tried to listen to the networked Bauer show, gave up after 5 minutes, truly awful, even by Bauer standards

Content quality is far too low, I agree.
The Breakfast Show has a cheap version of Bangers at 7:10am, three hourly updates of Ents News and a guest and the guest is on at 8:10am and the interview, more often that not, is wrapped by 8:25am. There is no features after 9am, expect for Throwback Thursday and the Nixtape on a Friday.
There is no content on Clara's show if there is not a Live Lounge - just links to the next song and ANOTHER Ents update at 10:40am.
The afternoon shows are the best for content.
Scott & Chris have Bangers everyday at 2:40pm, Innuendo Bingo twice a week, RoNR and Bambaleo Wednesday but I have noticed that even Innuendo Bingo has been scaled back over the last year or so. If you watch the videos done with Dev and Greg James from this time last year, they were around 11 or 12 minutes long - now you are lucky if they are 7 or 8 minutes long but I suspect this is because of the quality of contestants and whether they enjoy the game or not.
Greg has a feature every day after 5pm and every day after 6pm - after the 10 minute takeover.
I get that Radio 1 is supposed to be leading the way for new music but the features are getting shorter and shorter and they seem to think we, the listeners, don't notice. I think there is such a thing as too much music as you can easily fit 40 songs into three hours (I am sure Clara has more than this even though her show is 15 minutes shorter!) and have plenty time for features without them feeling rushed.

They only usually play shorter versions of songs on Friday (cos New Music Friday) but I have heard shortened songs during the weekend shows too, particularly after the news and at the top of the hour. 

I know the amount of music on radio 1 is becoming annoying. I know it's a music station but if I just wanted to listen to music with no funniness I could just listen to the radio 1 playlist on Spotify!

I like that. I think Scott needs to stay on the weekday schedule though, either in his current slot or back to 4-7 and thus taking over the chart. 

This has been annoying me- one of the great things about RONR is the banter between Scott, Chris and the DJ and the flow of the game. It has the potential to be one of the funniest things on Radio 1 when they're on top form and the facts are funny. Stopping after 1 fact to play a song we've heard countless times is pointless and ruins the flow. It's happened a few times where they've only done 2 facts. Such a shame, especially now that they have such a good line-up with Greg on Mondays, Charlie Sloth on Tuesdays, Alice on Thursdays and Cel on Friday. They all have the potential to be hilarious and have been great the last few weeks, just drop the song in the middle and go back to 4 facts!

I reckon a good move would be Adele to weekend breakfast, Jordan to early breakfast and an Alice and Clara swap I think Dev's days are limited now.
