I agree with you on the Dan & Phil move, and keeping Grimmy and Mills in the same places, but aside from that, I'm not sure I like some of your ideas. Newsbeat, for example, provides an informative, entertaining and bite-sized look on the world's affairs. I really like their longer shows, as they provide more depth into the stories they tell frequently. B.Traits is shoddy and her voice makes me want to tear my own hair out; I like the fact that she's rarely on Radio 1 at a time I'm listening. Also, I like Greg's slot where it is - maybe they should swap Greg & Scott's slots around?

Jacob, perhaps you're forgetting that they are paid by the BBC to provide radio shows that entertain. In all honesty, they've been working at Radio 1 for a good (or bad) few months now, presenting hourly radio shows every couple of weeks. The point is also that they're also pretty bad on their Monday slot too. We want them out of Radio 1 before Ben Cooper thinks they're actually any good

The first thing I'd do would be to scrap Gemma Cairney altogether. Then, I'd swap the Surgery with the Radio 1 Rock show, put just Dan and Phil back onto Sunday evenings, give Clara Amfo instructions to expand on some features, extend the Radio 1 Breakfast Show bed to how it was before. Lastly, I'd stop syndicating 1Xtra & Radio 1 on Saturday evenings, because, well, it's just weird, and it's stopping new presenters *cough* from being given opportunity to shine.

Look, I don't swear often, but they're utter shit. Lack of features (as was obvious in Dev's handovers "so what are you gonna do on Radio 1 today?" "er... well, my dad reviewed yesterday's show". Nowhere near as personable as Dan and Phil, unworthy of the six hours on Radio 1 that they "presented". The best bit? When Sarah-Jane Crawford took over.

Nope, point is they're automatically accepted into the community, whereas everyone who is a proper presenter has to work hard to get to where they are - they can only "work the controls" because somebody else showed them how to do it. Dan & Phil were good (ish) on Sunday evenings (don't get me started with this Daniel P Carter nonsense), but with everyone else, the whole show is just a random shambles.

Yeah, he's a dance DJ and not a radio presenter. I don't like his weekend slot, it doesn't seem to be appropriate to play dance music from 4pm on a Saturday afternoon.

Jacob, you have a lot to learn about this forum buddy! We're all "complaining" about this because they're not radio presenters, they're people who have no right just to become part of the radio industry. Alas, we are all the ultimate nerd squad. We just know this kind of thing.

You think? I preferred it with Matt & Fiona. Ian was, I must admit, a bit of a shambles but I liked the way that conversation flowed. Now, without being sexist, I think the show is too woman-heavy. There's Victoria, Fiona and now Tina. it just doesn't feel quite right that Tina joins in the conversations, and Vic is little help to any links either. I have to say, the future isn't looking great for the breakfast show.

Completely agree with you. Radio 1 Breakfast, in my opinion, was great with Nick bouncing off Matt & Fifi. Ever since Matt left, it's becoming more and more "zoo". And it's not a good zoo either. They're moving things for the sake of it now, and it's starting to become a bit of a mess.

Will Chris be a silent producer on Breakfast? Sounding like the "zoo" format that they were so keen to get rid of to me.

I completely agree. She was featured in the Guardian the other week, and a quote I'd like to pick out from this was "she always sounds like she's smiling". She's (in my opinion) better than Fearne has ever been, although, I completely agree, content is very, very sparse. It just feels like she's stolen Fearne's show, rather than replaced it. Assuming she's gonna be on this slot for a while yet, I'm sure there's still time for her features to improve!

I've got that saved in my Favourites folder (WHOOOO?!). I download regularly, it's cool to listen without being online all the time. Handy, too.

Hate to nit-pick (who am I kidding, I love it) - Radio 1 missed an opportunity there with all this "visualisation" - with thousands more people tuning in to hear her last show, surely it would make sense to direct that traffic to the website? A good show nontheless. Fearne, another radio great, gone.
