  1. Radio DJ's who you'd like to see do a show together on radio one and yes I know it's silly:p 4-6.30: Fearne Cotton and John Humphries - Something I'd probably only bother to listen to once a year, but it would be quite funny in a 'reality radio' type of way, putting someone extremely intelligent with, well erm, Fearne Cotton. 6:30-10: Moyles and co doing the chat but Zane Lowe chosing all the music, best of both worlds 10-1: Vernon Kay and Sara Cox - Bolton double act. I think they'd work quite well together in a weird way. 1-4: Greg James and Westwood. One of the funniest parts of the week on r1 is when Westwood goes on feet up friday. 4-7 Scott Mills and Mark Chapman - 'nuff said 7-10 Colin Murray and Huw Stephends - Ok...running out of DJ's here but they both do (or did) really interesting shows and documentaries. 10-12 Richard Bacon and James Whale - Two kings of night time radio. 12-1. Recorded versus hosted by Zane Lowe at a pub in London, Moyles v Chris Evans. 1-4 Dev, Matt Edomonson, Tom Deacon etc. just so the radio one bosses can go on about how much new talent they have.
  2. They're playing it again in the trailers. I doubt they would if the guy was so annoyed.
  3. I agree with what your saying. People turn to religion when they are desperate, and people in these countries aren't as modernised or developed in their thinking to interpret christianity or other religions in the same way that most relgious people in the West do. I don't think this makes them evil. As for the whole gay thing, Alan Carr said something along the lines of 'Being a comic and not mentioning anything about homosexuality is the best way to show equality'. As for the article it's good in some ways, but there's no way Scott will be offered the Breakfast show other than covering. When they get rid of Moyles the reason would be that he's not fresh...need to give way to the up and coming talent and all that bullshit. They'd get a massive backlash if they put someone in his place who was the same age and had been on radio 1 for 10 years. Also I'm not sure whether the people of Uganda would be entirely convinced by an orange man turning up and saying that homosexuality is not a bad thing....but good luck to him if thats what he does.
  4. They should have more than just geeeoGRAPHical places, like when they did 'I'm in the POST OFFICE'
  5. I wish he'd do more prank calls...and not just to chappers.
  6. I think it will be CT. Where Am I was good, but I've listened to most of them over the last few weeks and it's too repetitive. Playing the same 'I'm in Norwich', 'I like sausages' are funny the first couple of times but boring every single day. Also the clues are always the same, population, then how far it is from somewhere etc. then where the local football team is. Apart from that it was a good feature, hope it comes back sometime. Also it would have been better if we heard more of the wrong answers.
  7. This schedule just shows how important it was R1 got Moyles for another year really.
  8. What happens on the Friday afternoon show then? Did they have the Golden Hour lol?
  9. That well known musician, Mark Chapman...
  10. Good news, I reckon they'll try to keep Moyles at Radio one after, maybe offer him a weekend slot but he'll refuse and go to 5live. Possibly take over from Tony Livesey on the 10pm slot, although I like Livesey, he hasn't really replaced Richard Bacon (another radio great-they should get him to do the breakfast show!). Moyles is one of the most engaging and intelligent DJ's on radio one, and he'll be a loss, the worrying thing is who's going to take over? I personally think Vernon would be the best bet but I dont think it'll happen due to his age and the fact that alot of people don't like him (although that never stopped Moyles). Greg James and possibly Anny Mac are the only 'up and coming DJ's' who are worth listening to and I don't think either are currently good enough to replace Moyles, even in a years time. I hope they don't let Nick Grimshaw anywhere near that show.... As for the rest of radio one this time next year I think Scott and Greg should switch shows next year (although I doubt Scott would hang around for that) and I don't think radio 1 will want to have new breakfast and drivetime hosts - too big a risk. Edith and Jo will be gone if not already. No more Nihal, Vernon Kay will have gone to the States. More bland radio from Matt Edmonson and Dev etc. ... maybe Tom Deacon will still be around .... Unofficial Mills will die, Radio 1 ratings will fall massively and the Sun will go on about how great Nick Grimshaw and Fearne are so great at entertaining the target audience - their close friends and family.
  11. It was 1xtra breakfast but can't see it happening as early mornings and weekend breakfast is pretty much the same in terms of prestige - both are on before most people wake up.
  12. "It makes me feel like the Asian Network if I'm honest" lol funniest thing I've heard on the show for a while
  13. I have spelt it correctly. iPlayer and iplayer and IPLAYER are all exactly the same spelling. If your going to be picky please can you get it right;)
  14. Can't believe there's so much dislike for Vernon. I think it's just because he's actually got a bit of personality...
  15. Yes I think it was him who made the decision but it was because of what happened and the reactions he got, as you say.
  16. Managed in the sense that he's still on the radio but he's been forced to apologise a few times. I agree with you about Brand, but what about people like Frankie Boyle? bar the one thing he said about Adlington, I think most of his stuff is harmless...
  17. No, good stuff like Moyles, Mills and Vernon Kay:D are though (actually Vernon might not be)
  18. Good shout, he's been on the radio alot filling for people so hopefully he gets more 'permanent' time.
  19. Matt Edmonson on Jo Whiley radio 1, is bad enough, but normally I'd switch to 5live...where they've got some 'riveting' commentary on golf (seriously it's boring enough on the TV). Radio 4 is pretentious as ever...think it's Absolute (at least they have decent music) or iplayer. Sort it our Radio 1!
  20. It wasn't racist, he called a councillor a 'Nazi Pig' on air He hasn't sued Talksport he's appealed against the ofcom ruling. Although I don't like him I agree with you radio is too tightly regulated and I agree with what Gaunt said to Richard Bacon on 5live that it would be better for radio to be regulated by the law of the land than a stupid out of touch regulator. The swearing thing is ridiculous, some of the stuff said on commercial radio is 50x more offensive than swearing in a reasonably non-offensive way. I also wish BBC would stop scaring off talent, especially comedians, by forcing them to dumb down when they appear on the beeb, we need outspoken people and those who are prepared to push the boundaries. IMO anything that doesn't incide hatred or violence or break UK law should be allowed on the basis that you can switch off if you don't like it.
  21. How long has it been going for in total? Didn't Moyles start it? Probably is time to move on, can't think of any other features that have lasted this long on radio one.
  22. Day after he lost his appeal against Ofcom...shame:D
