Interesting... I've been thinking of this alot recently as the song is parodied in the new 'quit smoking' adverts.

This is more or less exactly what I said a couple of weeks ago, but Viv saw me as... what was it again.... childish? Pathetic? Something like that. But I am in that catagory of people you list Mitchell Edit: She told me to grow up

Huge question, and something that has been debated alot in the last few months. Shall we list some contenders.... Moyles to stay. Fearne Cotton. Greg James. Scott Mills. Reggie Yates. Nick Grimshaw. Vernon Kay. Sara Cox. Annie Mac. Dev. A combination of any 2 of the above (Its very local radio, but who knows...) An 'outsider'. (By this I mean someone from another station or some other form of media) I don't think anyone else at the station could be considered. I think if Radio 1 are wanting to aim to younger audiences, that would rule out Kay, Coxy, Moyles staying and maybe even Scott (despite him been more than qualified). I think that Greg James stands a huge chance. He is entertaining and his afternoon show is appears to be doing well.

Its not really relevant is it....?

E-bay is not the way when it comes to tickets

Helz, leave the 'special song' to the very end. I think you know which I mean.

Am I missing something with this ridiculous thread title?

We've neglected our Christmas thread. To be honest, I was running out of songs

That was a tough 90 minutes

When does it start?

Has this been forgotten about? Or is it here and I'm not aware of it?

I can see what your saying. When I say the interview 'worked' I mean it was certainly entertaining to me. Tom Jones was very informative, had loads of stories to tell and also seemed very down to earth. Granted, not everyone would have enjoyed that or even cared that Tom Jones was on. And as for how many more copies of his album that interview helped to sell, we'll probably never know.

Tom Jones was an unusual choice also. But that weirdly worked out well! But Sir Tom is in a different league to Michael Buble. Its obviously a promotional thing, but is it the right audience to promote it to, or the right platform to promote it on? Its like R1 saying... 'yeah sure, promote it here, but never in a million years will we play it'

I'm feeling this may be an odd choice of guest. I mean, Radio 1 has never really played any of his music

It is the only version of band aid that should appear on this thread. The other 2 are terrible

I for one would love to join his campaign to save the trees. I would tie myself to one too!!

OK... something is really annoying me. Its the reaction from so called 'football fans' at the news that Portsmouth might be liquidated very soon. I went onto a Leeds Forum earlier this evening and a handful of these twats seem happy that this may happen! Likewise a Sheffield Wednesday fan posted on a Southampton forum something along the lines of 'HAHAHAHHAHA etc etc etc'. I feel really sorry for the fans of Portsmouth. Their loyal genuine, week in-week out supporters who will be affected the most by this news. What is encouraging though is the reaction of Southamptom fans, Portsmouths closest rivels who seem genuinly saddened at the possibility of losing this long standing rivallry.
