Clara Amfo had a proper giggle when a listener finally cracked One Second to Name, and it turned out to be the unlikeliest of answers. The clue was “where should we stay in France,” which sent guesses flooding in for Vanessa Paris, Lily Allen and even Gwen Stefani before Vicky, a prop stylist from Forest Hill, correctly named the track as Paris Hilton’s Stars Are Blind. Vicky admitted she felt “laughing with shame” about getting it right, to which Clara reassured her there’s “no shame in the game of one second to name.”

Clara dug into her own collection for Clara’s Crate, picking Jojo’s Too Little Too Late and confessing a soft spot for the singer’s earlier hit Leave (Get Out), joking that it was “quite bizarre” hearing a 13-year-old sing about heartbreak. Listeners responded warmly, including Alice in Crystal Palace and Lauren in Queens Park, both self-declared Jojo fans.
Clara also flagged Radio 2’s return to the ABBA Voyage Arena next month for two Children in Need gala shows on Sunday 8 November, promising a DJ set from Vernon Kay as part of the night. Michael Kiwanuka’s brand new single Summer Clothes also got an airing, with Clara noting he recorded his new album Fudge close to home in Southampton after taking time out for health reasons.
