Owain Wyn Evans rang in to Trevor Nelson's Radio 2 show to talk about his upcoming 400-mile, four-nations cycle ride for BBC Children in Need, admitting the weekend's storm had left him "completely drenched" during training. Trevor had asked listeners to come up with a new name for his regular Old School Run feature just for the occasion, with the options being "Wind It Back", "Old School Roll" and "The Long Awinding Road". Owain picked "Wind It Back" as his favourite, prompting Trevor to wish him "the very best of luck" ahead of the challenge, which starts in two weeks.

Earlier in the show, driving instructor trainer Darren joined in for a game of Five Seconds to Name, correctly identifying Genesis from a clip and opting to hear Invisible Touch as his prize, after admitting he'd worked out the answer from Trevor's cryptic clue alone. Travel presenter Bobbie Pryor beat him to naming the act on an earlier round of the same clue, with Trevor teasing her for being "smug" about it, though Andy from Faversham was confirmed as the first correct texter overall.

Trevor also flagged a big night ahead on Radio 2, plugging Jo Whiley's 7pm special marking 20 years of Amy Winehouse's Back to Black, including Jo's interview with producer Mark Ronson and a Camden Roundhouse concert recording, from which Trevor played Nao's cover of Tears Dry on Their Own earlier in the afternoon.
