Scott earns his first dance injury
Scott had a day away from rehearsal but proudly displayed his first blister. It did not prove he could dance, although it at least showed that the weeks of practice were producing a recognisable ballroom injury.
Joanne Clifton had now added arm movements to the routine. Scott compared coordinating them with his feet to patting his head while rubbing his stomach and could not understand why learning one half of the body had not been enough.
A sugar-lump who goes wrong
A window cleaner called after being offered coffee with a sugar cube. He delivered an enthusiastic “who” to mark the old-fashioned moment, but began so low that there was nowhere for the sound to rise.
Scott supplied constructive criticism rather than rejecting the report. Sugar lumps were apparently still common at agricultural shows, proving both that the listener had found a genuine “who” and that the week remained unexpectedly dominated by farming.
Nervous noises around celebrities
Demi Lovato had tweeted that somebody became nervous and farted on her during a meet-and-greet. Scott admitted to similar moments around Britney Spears and Nicole Scherzinger, while listeners supplied encounters involving Cheryl, Jay-Z, the Princess Royal and S Club 7.
The programme distinguished accidental squeaks caused by nerves from deliberate acts and concluded that aircraft were unusually forgiving environments. It was exactly the kind of serious celebrity discussion Scott believed Radio 1 existed to provide.
How Professor Green met Millie
Professor Green corrected a Real or No Real claim about his relationship. He had noticed Millie Mackintosh on the cover of FHM while his publicist and friend Phoebe was discussing Made in Chelsea.
Phoebe knew somebody who knew Millie. Later that day, Pro received her number with the message that she was expecting his call, forcing him to telephone immediately before he could lose his nerve. The magazine had started the chain, but he had not simply requested a stranger’s number from its pages.
Professor Green then played Real or No Real against Huw Stephens. Scott also celebrated the very wet Sigma and Gemma Cairney Bingo, while continuing to campaign for a Radio Times cover with Joanne.
