Charlie and Jerry’s Easter egg hunt sparks a glove box full of expired curry sauce

Thursday's show kicked off with Charlie admitting she'd found a full-size Easter egg "almost the size of my head" wedged down the side of her wardrobe since last Easter, which she then opened live on air to gasps and a verdict of "sweet chocolate." The confession spiralled nicely, with listeners sharing their own grim discoveries, including spices that expired in 2020 and a glove box containing five bottles of curry sauce.

The real drama, though, was the One Second Club reaching a nail-biting day five after two delivery drivers had already failed to guess the mystery clip. Charlie and Jerry put out an appeal for a female driver to "make delivery drivers great again," and snack van driver Ney from Littlehampton duly delivered, correctly naming Biffy Clyro's "Mountains" and ending the losing streak just in time for the weekend.

Elsewhere, the Mileage Game saw Hertfordshire dog-walker Jade, driving a Peugeot Partner van, quizzed on toes, matcha versus latte, and hair-washing habits before Jerry's guess of 115,000 miles came closest to Jade's actual 157,000.

On a more personal note, Jerry shared some happy news: she and her four-year-old daughter Summer Rose will become the first ever parent-and-child duo to read a bedtime story on CBeebies, airing Friday at quarter to seven.

The pair also teased Radio 1's Live Lounge Month launching Monday at midday, kicking off with Blossoms, followed by Nothing But Thieves on Wednesday and Sam Smith on Friday.
