He spoke about nerves before performing, saying of stage fright: "You just have to be brave and run towards the fear." Couch Potatoes saw returning champion Joanne beat challenger John, correctly answering a tough Slumdog Millionaire year question to book her place in next week's Hall of Fame final. John, watching Strictly with his mother Christine later, bowed out after a strong eight-point score.
Air Drum Anthems focused on workout tracks, with callers Sean, Dave and Jeff sharing personal picks including Groove Armada and Queen's "Bicycle Race." Owain also discussed his own preparations for this year's Children in Need cycling challenge, a 400-mile ride finishing in Cardiff, comparing training notes with fellow Radio 2 presenter Gary Davis, who is taking on a similar challenge.
