Jay’s Quiz
Jay’s Quiz returned during Scott’s breakfast cover.
The feature placed another contestant under pressure with questions spanning general knowledge, popular culture and the kind of facts that seemed obvious only after the answer had been revealed.
A Balamory announcement
Scott teased something significant for Balamory fans on Friday’s programme.
The children’s series was returning with a new production, and Scott promised a special breakfast-show moment connected with the news.
Farewell to Georgie
Owain Wyn Evans used the end of his early show to thank producer Georgie Kemp Walker on her final day at Radio 2.
He praised the fun she had brought to the programme and wished her well in her new job before handing over to Scott.
Breakfast becomes mid-morning
Scott expected to finish at 9.30, but Vernon Kay was delayed by problems on their shared train line.
Vernon sent increasingly frustrated voice notes from the platform while Scott remained behind the microphone.
Regular listeners joked that Vernon had finally managed to be “first on the register” despite not being present in the studio.
Scott questioned how long he would need to continue and whether the unexpected extension counted as double or triple time.
Handover
The normal handover was postponed until Vernon finally reached Broadcasting House.
