Lucy explained that she first wrote the song when she was one week sober and was approaching five years without alcohol.
After supporting Robbie at Sandringham, they discussed the track and eventually recorded it as a duet.
Listeners in recovery described the song as honest and deeply moving.
Joe Lycett
Joe Lycett joined Scott to discuss Late Night Lycett and the false stories he had deliberately planted in the press.
The conversation included the fabricated plan for a statue of H from Steps and the difficulty of deciding whether increasingly absurd headlines were genuine or another Lycett invention.
Auntie Margaret and Auntie Pauline
Joe’s aunties had created their own Instagram account and wanted to reach 100,000 followers.
Joe had promised that if they achieved the target before the BAFTAs, he would attend dressed as Elizabeth I.
Auntie Margaret unexpectedly joined the conversation and explained that the pair had already begun posting make-up and biscuit recommendations.
Scott immediately followed the account and encouraged Radio 2 listeners to help push the total upwards.
He also suggested Margaret and Pauline deserved their own spin-off programme.
The Birthday Game: Nathan
Nathan from Lincoln turned 40 and was training to become a children’s boxing coach.
He had four children aged nine, eight, eight and five, who were planning a birthday surprise.
Nathan wanted early-2000s music and dismissed most songs after 2010 as repetitive.
His first spin was Deniece Williams’ Free. He rejected it.
The second was Lil Nas X’s Old Town Road, a favourite of his children. Nathan reminded them that it was his birthday and gambled again.
His compulsory final song was Westlife’s debut single Swear It Again, number one in 1999.
Nathan recognised it instantly and described it as perfect.
He asked Scott to send the signed card for pride of place on the mantelpiece.
