“I am munchy”
Scott became fascinated by an American visitor’s video about British pub habits.
The man found it wholesome that people opened a bag of crisps and placed it in the middle of the table for everybody to share.
He also used the phrase “I am munchy” when hungry.
Scott immediately sent the phrase to Sam, whose confused reply made clear it was unlikely to become part of their normal vocabulary.
Listeners suggested the visitor should next discover combining two crisp flavours, pouring peanuts into the packet and being told it was his round.
The Birthday Game: Shiri
Shiri turned 60 and celebrated with a tapas party inspired by her love of Spain, where her sister lived.
Her preferred eras were the late 1970s and the 1980s.
Shiri initially named Meryl Streep as a birthday twin before discovering the actor’s birthday was ten days later.
Her first spin was Anita Ward’s Ring My Bell, number one in 1979. She liked it but chose to continue.
The second was Whitney Houston’s I Wanna Dance with Somebody, number one in 1987.
Shiri accepted it immediately as a guaranteed dance-floor record.
Danny and Dougie from McFly
Danny Jones and Dougie Poynter joined Scott to promote McFly’s album Power to Play.
Scott put on the glasses he used as a child while pretending to read the news and introduced a feature based on old tabloid headlines about the band.

The first report claimed McFly had turned down the chance to represent the UK at Eurovision.
The band remembered hearing the rumour but said any scheduling issue had been turned into an exaggerated suggestion that they considered themselves too cool for the contest.

A kiss-and-tell story claimed Danny had kept his socks on during a romantic encounter.

The final headline claimed Dougie lived beside David Attenborough and had shared a car with him.
Dougie confirmed there was truth in it.

Their conversations focused almost entirely on animals, including tortoises and a particular type of ant.
Radio 2 in the Park
Scott also promoted the announcement that Radio 2 in the Park would take place in Leicester.
The artist line-up would be revealed on Zoe Ball’s programme the following morning.
