Advice from Sophie Ellis-Bextor
Sophie Ellis-Bextor joined Scott as he prepared for the Great Scott TreadMills Challenge.
She had completed her own 24-hour Kitchen Disco Danceathon for Children in Need and understood how quickly the combination of repetition, emotion and lack of sleep could become overwhelming.
Sophie encouraged Scott to break the challenge into manageable sections rather than thinking about the full 24 hours at once.
The support was particularly meaningful because Scott had watched previous Radio 2 fundraising challenges and was now becoming the person expected to keep going while the rest of the station rallied around him.
The Birthday Game: Jane
Jane turned 46 and planned to have a meal with her husband Ben and their children before watching a film.
She confirmed that she was born on 9 November 1976 and was a Scorpio.
Scott struggled to find famous people sharing the date before identifying Grey’s Anatomy actor Eric Dane.
Jane then faced the three Birthday Game selections, with Scott again warning her not to reject a song she genuinely liked simply because another spin was available.
Radio 2’s pig names
The programme discussed names suggested for pigs, including Anton Du Pig, Katya and Claudia Winkle Pig.
The conversation also led to the revelation that Claudia Winkleman owned a tortoise and supposedly regarded water with suspicion.
Handover
Scott handed over after another update on his preparation and the growing collection of advice from former Children in Need challenge participants.
