The Who Game attacked another childhood rule
The Who Game returned with more habits and beliefs which once seemed completely normal.
One listener offered the warning that you should never go swimming after eating.
Scott and Chris immediately dismissed it as one of those childhood rules everybody repeated without ever seeing much evidence.
Other entries included Hungry Hungry Hippos, Furbys, newspapers, crazy-hair days and buying jeans according to whether a portable CD player fitted into the pocket.
The whole point was not that every item had completely vanished.
It was the strange realisation that something could once be everywhere and then quietly disappear from your life.
Chris had begun collecting footballs
The more revealing discovery was sitting in the studio.
Chris had started collecting footballs.
Some reminded him of playing when he was younger, while others appealed because of the material, design or era.
He handed one to Scott and insisted he appreciate it properly.
That meant feeling it.
Then smelling it.
Scott was unconvinced, particularly when Chris became protective about how firmly the ball was being squeezed.
Listeners then shared their own unusual collections, including one caller who realised that what she really collected might be smells, particularly the scents of cleaning products.
Live Lounges time forgot
The quiz returned to old Live Lounge performances.
The Sugababes appeared in a 2006 clip covering Hard-Fi’s Living for the Weekend, while other archive performances tested just how much old Radio 1 music remained buried in Scott and Chris’s memories.
It fitted perfectly with a day spent recovering things people had forgotten, whether they were Live Lounges, childhood rules or the smell of an old football.
