Scott had proposed
The biggest news was personal.
Scott had asked Sam to marry him.
Sam said yes.
Scott had spent the previous week quietly asking Chris for proposal advice during songs.
Chris had been through it before.
His main recommendation was not to turn the question into a five-minute speech.
Keep it short.
Scott tried.
The nerves made even that difficult.
The whole weekend had been secretly organised
Scott told Sam’s parents beforehand.
His mum and sister helped prepare the location while Scott dragged Sam out for a suspiciously timed walk.
Sam did not really want to go.
It looked like rain.
Scott insisted.
He needed the family to have enough time to decorate while they were away.
The plan became increasingly stressful because Scott had to make an unwanted walk last exactly as long as necessary without revealing why.
Scott apologised his way through the proposal
When the moment finally arrived, Scott noticed something about himself.
He kept saying sorry.
Sam was being asked to marry him and Scott somehow sounded as though he were apologising for the inconvenience.
Sam asked why he was saying sorry.
Scott tried again.
The important part survived the nerves:
would Sam marry him?
Yes.
Sam’s mum had even ordered cakes saying “He said yes”.
Scott joked that he had wondered whether she should also have ordered emergency “He said no” cakes just in case.
Chris skipped straight to the stag
Scott was still processing being engaged.
Chris was already planning the stag do.
He wanted it big.
Expensive.
Elaborate.
Scott and Sam shared plenty of friends, immediately creating logistical questions about who goes to which stag.
Chris suggested people might have to choose.
Then he began building the fantasy guest list.
Lewis Capaldi.
Sam Fender.
Anyone famous who had sent congratulations.
Rob Brydon had apparently offered to DJ the wedding.
Scott thought this was all getting ahead of itself.
Chris considered that the point.
Brother or Lover featured Narel and Rob
The relationship game introduced Narel and Rob.
Rob had met Narel’s exes but gave evasive answers.
Narel had bought him a moon-shaped lamp featuring a photograph of Rob and his son.
They had gone to *Live at the Apollo* together.
Narel liked climbing and outdoor activities while Rob did not.
The team divided.
Three chose brother.
Two chose lovers.
Narel gave the reveal:
lover.
They had been together for around ten or eleven months.
Scott was delighted to be among the people who got it right.
Real or No Real tested the podcast boom
Don’t Look It Up used bizarre podcast titles.
Was Getting Felt Up a real podcast?
Yes.
It was about puppetry.
The category worked because by 2021 there genuinely seemed to be a podcast for every conceivable subject.
Scott and Chris had started the programme discussing one enormous life event.
They ended it debating shows about felt.
