One night out was exposed by TikTok
The show continued asking listeners how social media had sold them out.
One caller had been on a particularly messy night out in Bath.
Somebody dared her to flash her breasts in a busy venue.
At the time, this apparently seemed reasonable.
The following day, a man she had been seeing for several months contacted her.
A TikTok existed.
Somebody had filmed the moment and turned it into a looping clip.
The caller’s private bad decision had become public entertainment.
Scott and Chris immediately began suggesting alternative songs which might have made the video even worse, including Britney Spears and Black Eyed Peas.
Connor was the man behind the Glastonbury flag
Earlier in the week, Layla had told the story of somebody whose fake illness collapsed because of a festival photo.
Radio 1 now found him.
Connor had wanted to attend Glastonbury 2019 but could not get all the required days off work.
So he phoned in sick repeatedly from the festival.
That decision alone was risky.
His second decision was worse.
He and friends took a huge flag featuring Peter Crouch and Theresa May in a joke image connected with *That Peter Crouch Podcast*.
They carried it around Glastonbury.
People photographed it.
One image reached Crouch.
Crouch retweeted it.
The supposedly ill employee was standing in plain sight
Connor’s workplace saw the viral image.
There he was.
At Glastonbury.
Clearly enjoying himself.
Not visibly too ill to work.
When he returned, management raised the photograph.
The issue went through a proper process.
Connor was eventually dismissed.
He admitted that carrying a huge, recognisable flag while pretending to be sick had not been the most discreet strategy.
The festival felt enormous enough that he had assumed he would disappear into the crowd.
Social media made the crowd irrelevant.
Peter Crouch sent him a message
Scott and Chris knew Crouch.
They explained what had happened and asked him for a reaction.
Crouch sent Connor a voice note.
He was sorry to hear the story had ended in dismissal and told Connor to keep flying the flag.
He joked that companies needed to look at themselves and signed off in classic Crouchy style.
The message did not undo the firing.
It at least gave Connor an extraordinary epilogue.
Innuendo Bingo with Davina McCall returned from the archive
The show also replayed a pre-pandemic Innuendo Bingo with Davina McCall.
Scott stressed the obvious historical context.
This was from a time when spitting water at celebrities across a studio was still considered harmless fun.
Nobody was recreating it now.
The archive clip simply reminded listeners how much the show had changed in two years.
