Scott wanted to take Chris to the Turkish barber
Chris’s wedding was approaching and Scott’s self-appointed responsibilities now extended beyond clothes.
He had become head of grooming too.
Scott was obsessed with his local Turkish barber.
Because staff knew he worked at Radio 1, they switched the shop from Turkish radio to Radio 1 when he walked in.
He wanted to take Chris before the wedding for the full treatment.
That included a haircut, shave, eyebrows and the slightly alarming process where stray ear hair was singed away using a flame.
Scott insisted it was brilliant.
Chris was less reassured by the phrase “burning of the ears”.
Then the wedding suit appeared to be missing
The real crisis involved clothing.
Scott had a suit with him which he intended to wear to an awards event.
Chris looked at it.
It appeared to be his wedding suit.
That created immediate panic.
Scott had been involved in choosing and managing Chris’s wedding clothes.
He also had previous form for accidentally getting rid of one of Chris’s suits during a charity clear-out.
For several minutes, it looked entirely possible that Scott had once again mixed up clothes which were rather important to the groom.
Nicola from the team began searching around the studio.
Eventually she crawled under a desk.
There was another suit.
That one was Chris’s.
The wedding outfit had been stored in a location which was not exactly Savile Row, but it was safe.
Scott could keep his awards suit.
Chris could still get married in the clothes they had chosen.
The crisis had been caused largely because two extremely similar suits had been left in the same Radio 1 environment.
Iain Stirling called from the Love Island voiceover booth
After an especially dramatic *Love Island*, Iain Stirling joined from Mallorca.
Scott and Chris asked him to translate the things contestants said into what they actually meant.
One discussion involved Wes and Laura after Wes expressed interest in speaking to Megan more.
Iain’s less diplomatic translation was essentially that Wes was trying to move the relationship towards a breakup without directly saying it.
He also described the difficulty of knowing major developments before viewers at home.
At one point he had been so excited by an upcoming episode that he messaged friends telling them they had to watch, while stopping himself from revealing why.
Iain could not simply spoil everything
Scott tried rumours on him.
Was the Australian *Love Island* villa literally next door?
Did he know where it was?
Was another narrator about to replace him?
Iain gave little away.
He explained that he was based in Mallorca because the voiceover sometimes needed changing quickly as the programme evolved.
That made being close to production useful.
Scott and Chris had already appeared repeatedly on *Love Island* through their fake couple photograph.
Now they had the narrator himself on the show while Chris’s genuine wedding clothing lay rescued from underneath a desk.
