Scott dressed for Pink by copying a mannequin
Pink was coming into Radio 1, so Scott decided he needed to make more effort than usual with his clothes. Rather than construct an outfit himself, he copied a shop mannequin almost piece for piece.
The result included tight trousers and a roll neck. Scott admitted the trousers were probably a size too small, while Chris thought the whole look made him resemble either a poet or the famous photograph of Dwayne Johnson wearing a black roll neck and chain.
It was considerably more planning than Scott normally put into dressing for an afternoon programme, but Pink counted as a special occasion.
James discovered an affair that had been staged
Private investigator James returned with one of the strangest surveillance jobs he had encountered.
A husband hired him because he supposedly believed his wife was having an affair. James followed the woman and quickly obtained unusually clear evidence: she met another man, kissed him and behaved affectionately with him in a well-lit public place.
The evidence was almost too convenient.
Further investigation revealed why. The man she was apparently having the affair with was actually her husband — the same man who had hired James.
The couple had deliberately staged the entire situation because they enjoyed the idea of being watched and followed. James learned they had apparently played similar games with other investigators.
He still sent the photographs and report to the client, who maintained the pretence of being shocked rather than admitting that James had photographed him with his own wife.
Pink spoke directly to her biggest fans
Pink joined Scott and Chris after performing spectacular aerial routines at the American Music Awards, including a performance while suspended from the side of a building. She discussed the training involved and admitted that despite appearing fearless in the air, the stunts still required enormous concentration.
The show then called some of Pink’s biggest fans without telling them she was sitting beside Scott.
Laura managed a charity and also performed as a Pink tribute act. When Pink suddenly joined the call, Laura was stunned to discover that the real Pink had already seen some of her tribute videos online.
Another fan was equally overwhelmed when the ordinary Radio 1 phone call unexpectedly became a conversation with her favourite artist.
Earlier, Bangers had gone to Chris after his choice of Pendulum’s “Watercolour” beat Scott’s appropriately themed Pink selection, “Don’t Let Me Get Me”.
