13 November 2017: Scott returned with Bollywood Strictly and Small Town Swaps

Scott had forgotten how to radio

Scott returned after two weeks away and admitted the first few minutes back on air felt strangely unfamiliar. Chris welcomed him with repeated cries of “Daddy’s home”, which Scott immediately asked him to stop doing.

The holiday had at least provided Scott with a new television obsession. While away he had discovered Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, the Indian version of Strictly Come Dancing, and became fascinated by its Bollywood choreography, costumes and scale.

Scott decided that if his own Strictly experience had involved Bollywood routines, things might have gone rather better. He joked that instead of trying to reach Blackpool he could have been aiming for Mumbai.

Celebrity exes inspired Small Town Swaps

A discussion about the complicated web of celebrities who had dated one another led Scott and Chris towards a more relatable version of the same phenomenon.

They wanted stories from small towns where the dating pool was limited enough for everyone’s exes to start reappearing in somebody else’s relationship history.

A more provocative name for the feature had already been rejected, so it became Small Town Swaps.

Listeners were invited to map out who had gone out with whom, particularly where former partners had effectively traded places.

Chris had made another Bangers promise

Scott also discovered that Chris had met listener Jamie during a night out in Windsor and, during a toilet encounter, promised him a future appearance on Bangers.

Rather than allow Chris to forget the commitment, the show tracked Jamie down and gave him his promised chance to choose between the day’s two songs.
