20 July 2017: Chris regretted his hangry letter of complaint

A missing delivery made Chris go formal

Chris had ordered food to Radio 1, but the driver apparently waited only briefly before leaving while Chris was making the journey down from the studio. Hungry and annoyed, Chris responded with a strongly worded email about the inconvenience caused by the failed delivery.

By the next day he was already regretting the grand language. Scott recognised the familiar pattern of complaints written in the heat of the moment and asked listeners for the emails and letters that had seemed entirely justified at the time but now made them cringe.

Alice Levine admitted she was quite happy to complain when the situation deserved it, particularly because a successful complaint could occasionally result in vouchers.

Brad Simpson cleared up the First Dates conversation

The Vamps arrived for Innuendo Bingo, giving Scott and Chris the opportunity to resolve another slightly dangerous memory.

After Scott had been approached for Celebrity First Dates, they had discussed Brad Simpson’s previous appearance on the programme and then realised they could no longer remember which parts of Brad’s story had been told on-air and which had only been said privately.

Brad diplomatically described his date as “very sexy”, said the woman had been lovely and confirmed that they had a very nice time at the restaurant. That was as far as the clarification went.

A loft conversion produced a pop-star problem

The Vamps also discussed the surprisingly ordinary financial problems that continued alongside pop stardom. Brad was having a loft conversion and joked that he still needed to save for blinds for the new windows.

Scott and Chris immediately enjoyed the contrast between touring pop star and expensive household furnishings.
