The secret Hollywood recording is revealed
Scott and Chris can finally explain why Clara Amfo had to begin the 1 December programme. They were recording the fourth Playground Insults with Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt, who were promoting Passengers and had agreed to sit opposite each other trading personal attacks.
Jennifer had seen earlier rounds and specifically requested the game. The short preview shows her driving the contest forward whenever Chris threatens to stop, while the full film remains under final approval until Monday. Scott is unusually proud of the finished video and promises that both actors appear far less polished than they do in a conventional interview.
M.O call Dial-a-Carol
M.O visit with Kent Jones to introduce “Not in Love”. After discussing the trio’s sound and their previous soaking on Innuendo Bingo, they join the annual call to the University of Illinois’s Dial-a-Carol service.
The student volunteer expects to sing to an ordinary caller and instead hears British pop stars joining in from a Radio 1 studio. The attempt becomes a confused international duet, exactly the kind of unpredictable call that has made the free university service one of the programme’s recurring Christmas traditions.
The fired candidates enter the lift
The latest eliminated Apprentice candidates receive one final business test in the BBC’s Elevator Pitch. They must use the journey from the ground floor to Radio 1 on the eighth floor to persuade Scott that their idea deserves support.
The confined space and strict time limit expose every hesitation and slogan before the doors open. Door nine of the Whooovent Calendar also reveals another forgotten Christmas treat, while Scott and Chris prepare for Monday’s full Lawrence and Pratt film.
