5 May 2016: Stacey Dooley gets her wish and plays Innuendo Bingo

Stacey asks to get wet

Stacey Dooley had contacted Chris herself to request a place on Innuendo Bingo. She arrived exceptionally early, avoided the lift because of her claustrophobia and joked that she could confront difficult situations while filming documentaries but still struggled in enclosed spaces.

Her enthusiasm survived the cold water. Stacey attacked the game from the opening clip and produced a particularly wet exchange with Chris, rather than taking the cautious approach of many first-time guests. Scott used the full celebrity introduction she had requested and promised they would invite her back.

The show also continued celebrating Seth Rogen and Chloë Grace Moretz’s Playground Insults. Its online audience was growing rapidly, although comments about the foam beside Scott’s mouth had become almost as prominent as the stars.

King Curtis takes control

Listener Sam had complained about a 17-person WhatsApp group run by her friend Curtis. The group existed to keep old friends in contact and organise events, but Curtis had become frustrated by silent members he called “Klingons”. He had already removed six and proudly described the panic that followed.

Scott renamed him King Curtis and decided 15 was the ideal group size. Four people were placed on probation: George, Grace, Tom and Tim. Grace saved herself by organising a pub visit, while Tim’s job fitting a rear wheel to a Formula 1 car proved too interesting to lose.

Curtis therefore removed George and Tom during the call, accompanied by the email trumpet on his work computer. He enjoyed the power enough to refuse suggestions that replacements should immediately be added.

A competitive Thursday

Greg James joined Real or No Real, with stories ranging from an elaborate hamster palace to research into words people disliked. Chris ended the week ahead in Battle of the Bangers, then had to wait for Scott’s return from Eurovision before the competition could resume.
