Dad’s unfortunate Story
Robin’s father was an enthusiastic Snapchat user who normally posted face filters and ordinary family updates. While checking Stories, she found a photograph from him that she very definitely did not want to see.
The intimate picture had been intended for Robin’s mother but accidentally published to everybody. Robin warned her father, who apologised and removed it, although not before the incident began circulating online.
Scott remembered reading about the story and noted that the photograph had at least been composed with some care. Robin had no desire to discuss the details further with her father, despite becoming briefly famous for receiving the world’s least welcome family Snapchat.

The previous day’s dating deal-breakers prompted Lizzy to reveal three broad categories: bad manners, bad grammar and bad clothes. Noisy chewing, drinking orange juice while still eating and poor cutlery technique could all end a date. Lowercase messages, text speak and confused words could lead to an immediate unmatch.
Clothes had to suit the venue. Lizzy disliked a man arriving at a smart restaurant in scruffy jeans and a worn T-shirt, but accepted trainers for a casual activity. One Go Ape date managed to fail every category by shaking the high ropes, wearing a stained top and repeatedly saying “Pacific” instead of “specific”.
She rejected the suggestion that this made her high-maintenance. The men were free to behave however they wanted, and she was equally free not to arrange a second date.
A Friday banger
Scott and Chris ended the week’s music battles with Davido’s “Oliver Twist” against Swedish House Mafia’s “Miami 2 Ibiza”. The feature had transformed a single request for Flow Rida into a regular chance for one listener to control Radio 1 and disappoint half the studio.
The team also marked a colleague’s departure with an unusually expensive lunch. Sympathy was moderated by the fact that he was only leaving their programme and would continue working elsewhere at Radio 1.
