Scott turns old clips into S-Hits

Scott was covering Breakfast and arrived with a new problem: his car repeatedly said “Pardon?” in a polite female voice. He had tried replying “Cancel”, but the car was not accepting the instruction.

An email predicted that Beccy would soon leave Radio 1 to become an EastEnders producer or director. The suggestion had been prompted by her very detailed comments on the programme, which Scott took as evidence that she had been secretly preparing for the role.

Scott then reviewed the show’s existing musical output, including Chris’s Batman song, Beccy’s Lady Gaga performance and the many accidental recordings that had already become recurring jokes. It strengthened his confidence that S-Hits was a genuine enterprise.

On Stupid Street, Smooth Talking Dan asked people about romance. The answers included a beach in Mexico, drinks and a dance, a kebab, and a supposedly famous log in Luton that nobody from Luton appeared to recognise.

Chris’s job hunt continued through more five-dollar online offers. His efforts at impressions and film recommendations had not inspired confidence, but Scott saw every failure as another possible track for the label.
