Unlikely names in songs
Scott began collecting songs that appeared to contain ordinary names in places where nobody expected them.
Some were genuine lyrical references; others depended on mishearing a phrase until it sounded like somebody’s name. The team replayed the lines, isolated the supposed name and invited listeners to supply more examples.
The feature worked best when a very specific or unfashionable name seemed to emerge from a major pop record.
