Everyday life received a soundtrack
The programme asked what song should play behind someone’s life as though ordinary routines were scenes in a film. Commuting, walking into work and romantic moments all became easier to imagine once the right music was attached.
Dirty Dancing provided one answer
(I’ve Had) The Time of My Life emerged as a suitably oversized choice, instantly making even an unremarkable entrance feel like the climax of Dirty Dancing. Scott and Chappers compared the mood created by different songs rather than trying to find one universally correct theme.
The Hoff and Love Handles returned
David Hasselhoff’s film projects prompted Scott to wonder whether an idea had somehow been made without the show, while Love Handles continued to be tested as a commercial proposition. Barryoke and other listener callbacks also surfaced, making the episode feel like a collection of the programme’s recent obsessions set to its own imaginary soundtrack.
