Ello there. It’s Wednesday morning, it’s time for Mills who’s sitting in for Moyles all week. Vernon spent yesterday discussing places to go in Blackpool with Chappers, whilst trying to find a guesthouse for Scott to stay in who could cope with Scott’s ‘diva demands’.
Morning Gossip with Mills
David Beckham has been voted the king of all chavs, Peter Andre is in talks to do a tour of Butlins (didn’t Spoony do them?), Jordan has got her dates wrong and her baby is due two months earlier than planned and Robbie’s friends claim his new girlfriend will never marry him. Ah, the ever amazing world of celebrities.
Flirt Divert
So here’s another selection of messages on the Flirt Divert answer phone this morning
"Hi Dave its Claire, I guess what I told you I didn't know you didn't feel the same way, I guess I'll never find love, okay bye". How sweet, you can’t laugh. It’s a sad story…
The next message I can’t be bothered to write out. It was something along the lines of “Hey, they’re playing our song” and then a load of inaudible words followed by Damien Rice. No doubt he rung her in the middle of the night, good job she didn’t answer…
And finally if you tuned into the show today you’re probably wondering what the ‘dirty boy’ references were all about. Well here’s the answer: "Hi James, just calling to check you got home okay, just searching through my jeans, found your ring in my pocket, must have been from when you when groping me. 'ey, dirty boy. Anyway give me a call…" One texter believes this could have been Abi Titmuss.
Homeless Mills: Scott in Blackpool
Day Three of the plans to flash-mob Blackpool is underway. There have been suggestions that there should be a huge football match between the listeners, such as 4 million-a-side. With Scott’s knowledge of football I doubt the game would even get started…
Scott’s been looking for ideas for a ‘secret sign’ that listeners could do to let people know they’re a Radio 1 listener. One suggested a daffodil in the top pocket or handkerchiefs in the back pocket. One amusing texter suggested not wearing Burberry to distinguish them. One bizarre caller said that they should wear Lucy Benjamin t-shirts, while one caller went for the idea of responding with “dirty boy” to anyone who says “ey?” in true Flirt Divert style.
Now it was time to find some venues to go to. Scott’s decided it’ll be Louis Tussauds on Saturday. That great waxworks where all the characters look like the same. Gary Lineaker looks like Pele and the others look like Kevin Keegan. Highlights include David Beckham and Roy and Halyey off Corrie. Another caller suggestion was the great Blackpool Zoo, where a relation will allow Scott to have a go on his elephant. Apparently it’s a big elephant, there’s enough to go round.
Daniel O’Donnell could also be one of the venues for Scott’s Blackpool tour. He’s playing at the Winter Gardens this week along with a ballroom dancing competition. Remember to book your travel and accommodation and book your tickets for this cracking concert. Another caller suggested shouting “ey, dirty boy” in the concert. Scott Mills would like to make it clear he isn’t involved in people doing so and disrupting the concert and doesn’t want nasty phone calls from Mr O’Donnell. Maybe Laura could try that for one of her daring jobs…
One caller wants to know what’s going on in the photograph on the Mills pages of Radio 1. There’s a photograph of Chappers standing behind Mills with Mills’ hands behind his back in front of a donkey, which is mocked up to look like it’s in Blackpool. The caller wanted to know what ‘Dick and Dom’ are doing in the photograph.
Celebrity Call
Once again at 7.45am we had a repeat of yesterday’s call, Zippy ringing a bakery in the north-east of England. At 9.10am we had Axel Foley calling a guesthouse in everyone’s favourite holiday resort, Blackpool. Sadly they’d made a mistake with his reservation… The call lasted about 2 minutes 10.

Today Scott was back with a new round of the takeaway game. Apparently a pizza place is a lot harder to do compared to the Chinese takeaway we heard on Monday. But still, this one works a treat. More confusion making great radio.
