26 April 2005: You’ve Been Busted, Radio 1 Vigilante and Flirt Divert

Alrite Treacle? I’m meant to be doing my Geography Coursework now- but hey if you’re going to fail geography it might as well be for Mills- right? “How dare you cut off Startreking by the Firm” blasted one caller, “You arse that was the best bit of the song!” said someone else when Scott started the show on a wet, cloudy Tuesday afternoon. But, as Mills said, it was a piece of poo. So he played Akon Instead.

Speaking to Chappers, he has stopped the name “Vladmir” going through, so unfortunately they will be no Vladmir and Dave next Monday! The mystery sprinkler has (almost) been named and shamed in the Radio 1 staff toilet and surprise surprise…. Its Colin Murray. Hasn’t that boy been taught any manners? I mean, it is affecting Scott’s performance every weekday from 4, since Scott can’t do his pre-show ritual. (That’s having a wee and speaking to his mam in that their Southampton)

Rate My Listener

Tonight’s ‘Rate my Listener’ is Gemma from Southend on Sea who wants to prove to everyone that not all Essex Girls are chavs (or should we say chavettes) with bleached hair and hoped earrings. She is a 32D, size 8 and her boobs just ain’t natural. Although they may look it. Her ideal man is, wait for it… Peter Kay. No, not Brad Pitt, Peter Kay. Queue dustball and silence followed by Destiny Child with their distinctly average song “Girls”. According to the twisted mind of Scott Mills (I mean that in a nice way) the video is hilarious with Beyonce and Michelle chatting to each other whilst ‘the other one’ tries to butt into the conservation. As Scott said, like, go away! We’re the ones who have all the talent! Things are all going well for Laura and her boyfriend- they’ve been going out for more than a month. Laura’s longest ever relationship.

You've Been Busted

Today’s you’ve been busted was a son wanting to know what was going on with her mum. She was meant to be going with him to a cousin’s barbecue last Sunday and at the last minute she said she couldn’t go, as she was going to a pharmaceutical conference in Harrogate. Her son didn’t believe her and he rang up her mobile, only to discover an international ring tone! What could be going on? Rob (the son) was wondering. Some suggestions on the text included that she (Jean) was an international spy but the story was very different when Scott rang her up, pretending she was on ‘Your Call’. Jean was actually in Latvia after booking cheap holidays with her friend after she had got a bit tipsy on white wine. Chappers said that it was something Scott would do. Chappers is probably right. After that sordid statement Scott put her on to Rob- ending the feature with a very awkward silence with her asking “if she could go, now”.

Your Call

Faithless with ‘Insomnia’ was chosen by Geordie Mark, who went to a Faithless concert last night, and thought it was one of the best concerts he has ever seen.

Today it was Carly from Gloucestershire’s 17th birthday. Scott promised to get everyone in the studio to stand on his or her chairs in the studio and sing happy birthday. He then decided not to- it was all a bit cruel! She chose Killers “Smile like you mean it”.

Kirsty from Glasgow chose Beyonce “Crazy in Love”. Why?

Dee Harvey, a 12 year old who went to see Rooster last night, screamed to her friend ‘Gee’, or something like that, before telling Scott that they went to a Rooster concert last night. He played “You’re so right for me” before she physically exploded.

Caly doing homework in Glastonbury (not the festival, the place) chose “Switch”, as she was very bored. I’m sure Chappers would have been very happy since it is his favourite genre of music- Crunk.

A very surprised Matt chose “Bleary” by Puddle of Mudd.

Hannah chose Ann Marie ‘It’s just one thing’. The poor girl is having trouble with her dissertation- like all students are at this moment. Feel for her.

Laura (not the producer) sending in a job application form in Berkshire chose a classic from the crypt. She chose Queen “Don’t stop me now”. Altogether now “Don’t. Stop. Me. Now….”

Carla driving home from Grange-Over-Sands saw a dirty car saying “Ay- Dirty Boy!” on the back window. She chose Studio B “Girls”.

Robett who works in Specsavers, down in that their Bristol chose the Chillies and “Rollercoaster of Love”.

Pippa chose the last song of your call, which was 50 Cent and the Game. Scott loves it. I don’t.

During Newsbeat Scott popped up to talk about nicknames in the workplace. Helen and Emma found it really irritating. The top names were ‘babe’, ‘love’, ‘sugarpuff’, ‘u..murray’, ‘chicken’ (way..ay chicken) and ‘darlin’. Which one do you hate the most? Get on the forum and talk about it! http://unofficialmills.freshosts.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=56

Today’s ‘Your Call; Most Wanted’ was Kasabian with “Club foot”.

Laura is in Hertfordshire playing the role of ‘Radio 1 Vigilante’. Sally rung up the show asking for help to bust the annoying people who park in the disabled bays when she wants to take her disabled son to the park. So Laura went on the watch for anyone who dares to park in the disabled bays. When a man pulled into the disabled bays Laura got out her megaphone and shouted at a dodgy looking man telling him “TO VACATE THE SPACE. “YOU THE ONE WHO LOOKS LIKE JEREMY PAXMAN; PLEASE MOVE YOUR CAR!!!!!!” She followed him into Starbucks with her megaphone singing “I KNOW A SONG, WHICH WILL GET ON YOUR NERVES etc….”. Eventually the Lawbreaker left Starbucks (belch) and drove away. A first victory for the Radio 1 vigilante!

Rate My Listener

Today's scores for rate my listener – 37% minging, 38% gud mornin'. I have to say, she was Gudd’ Mooorrrninn! (That is the official unofficialmills rating) Especially with her very interesting pose. Hmmm.. more of those soon, please. She was a very pretty lady. Like Coxy. Scott got 6 emails in asking for the uncropped pictures of Gemma from Southend. Mmmmmm….

Before Scott left Zane told him that he sounds exactly like the voice over man offa the Bravo Show ‘Best Videos Ever!!’. What do you think? I wouldn’t know- I haven’t watched it.

Anyways that brought Scott to an end on this Tuesday. I have to say it was an excellent show. I will give it….9. (I know that’s your favourite bit!) Flirt Divert would bring it up to a 10- are you listening Miss. Producer woman? If you wanna talk about today’s show then, as always get on the forum http://unofficialmills.freshosts.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=31
