Chris fears Scott’s “special sample”
Scott was sitting in for Grimmy on Breakfast and spent part of the programme discussing the odd privileges of fame, including a One Direction shop in Australia. Chris thought the group should use their name for something less predictable than merchandise, attempting to develop a butcher’s shop where the products were named after the band members.
Chris also had a problem with the woman at his local newsagent calling him “honeypie”. Scott argued that most people would take a pet name as a compliment, then persuaded Chris to ring a friend and try one himself. Chris chose “sexy legs”, immediately proving his own point that the wrong affectionate phrase could make a simple phone call unbearable.
The main event was a round of Oh, What’s Occurring? titled “Scott’s Special Sample”. Chris and Greg James were blindfolded and asked to identify drinks from four cups, with Scott ominously promising that one contained his freshly supplied “sample”.
Chris first tasted salted yoghurt, then selected warm apple juice and became convinced he had been made to drink Scott’s urine. Greg faced Moroccan tajine soup and tea mixed with tobacco. The game relied on Scott withholding the answer for as long as possible, while Chris became visibly more distressed at the prospect of the final cup.
The programme also played a guessing round based on how long Alesha Dixon laughed during a Chris Moyles interview, and Scott’s earlier voiceover work was mocked by Chris’s far less convincing alternative adverts. It was a classic Friday mixture of pointless competition and a prank made much worse by a title nobody was prepared to say comfortably.
