I can't see them taking Nikita Kanda away from Asian Network breakfast. Equally with Ore covering the slot through this month, I really can't see it being him. The fact the schedules are now published for that week, even if it was an outsider, I'd have thought they'd be announced by now. I'm hoping it's not another duo/trio either way.

James Cusack is sitting in for Dean McCulloch on Tuesday 27th to Thursday 29th August. Forgive my ignorance but.. is that the first time he's sat in on early breakfast?
-
There's already a schedule changes page..

I'm unsure why they list Monday's overnight show under 'OJ Borg', as it's been Phil's show for about two years. Only thing I can think is for the benefit of BBC Sounds, keeping all 5 weeknight overnight shows under one link/listing? A couple more changes: Edith Bowman in for Jo Whiley for two weeks starting Monday 19th August. Phil Williams in for OJ Borg on Thursday 22nd and Friday 23rd August.

Scott Mills appearing in Race Across the World
NathanS replied to Jono's topic in The Scott Mills Show
His husband, Sam. -
Nicki Chapman in for Romesh Ranganathan on Saturday 10th, 17th and 24th August Tina Daheley in for Jeremy Vine for two weeks starting Monday 12th August OJ Borg in for Sara Cox on Wednesday 14th August Scott Mills in for Fearne Cotton on Sounds Of The 90's on Saturday 17th August and 24th August.

Ellie Brennan in for OJ Borg last night and tonight (it was originally listed as Phil Williams). Gaby Roslin is on breakfast tomorrow and for the next couple of weeks
-
Paddy O'Connell in for Liza Tarbuck on Saturday 27th July OJ Borg in for Paddy McGuiness on Sunday 28th July and Sunday 4th August.
-
I agree. Would love him to get the next available daytime slot although he's built up a loyal following on overnights. I only used to hear him generally when covering, but I've been listening when up late in recent times (usually when struggling to sleep). Phil Williams is also great on overnights.
-
Rev. Kate Botley is in for OJ Borg next week (while he covers for Sara Cox on drive). Phill Williams is on overnights all this week. Matt Baker in for Paddy McGuiness on Sunday 21st July Gary Davies in for Vernon Kay for two weeks starting Monday 22nd July.
-
Nick Grimshaw is in for Jo Whiley tonight.

That's probably what they want to avoid. Scott (and Chris) spent quite a lot of time away from drive/afternoons when taking into account their own time away, then X amount of weeks covering the breakfast show. It makes sense to use Sam & Danni going forward now they're familiar with the breakfast audience, and they did a decent enough job from the bits I heard. It'll disrupt the schedule less.
-
Presumably low listening figures didn't warrant the cost of paying a presenter/production crew to do a show that time early at the weekend? A lot of the other changes in recent years (the 3 day weekend, evenings starting at 6pm, early breakfast starting at 5am) were presumably budget related too.

W/C Monday 8th July. OJ Borg in for Sara Cox for a week Tina Daheley in for Jeremy Vine for a week Mark Goodier returns to Radio 2 and takes over Pick Of The Pops on Saturday 6th July.

This whole 'Summer Schedule' just seems a bit... pointless. No other station (that I know of) does it. The extra half hour of Radio 1 breakfast to 11am seems a little random, especially as it means the mid morning slot is just 1hr 45 long now, seems even more of a waste having a trio on there. -An extra day of Sam & Danni is always good news. I only managed to catch weekend breakfast if I'm up every so often (or if I chose to listen back) and they're a good listen. They've been excellent on the breakfast show this week, in my opinion. Although... If they're giving that slot over to them from now till January, are they finally winding up the whole 'rotation' system on Friday early breakfast? Might have been worth giving someone the slot full time, whether that's Sam & Danni, Dean going to 5 days, or someone else. -I just assumed that Martha had taken over that Tuesday night slot anyway, so not surprising in the slightest, that just confirms it -I suppose with the weekend afternoon slot being given over to broadcasting from various festival, it makes sense to relaunch in September, although considering how far in advance previous changes have been published, they could've still said who was taking over... So maybe it's still undecided? It'll likely be another duo (although I think there are far too many now).

OJ Borg in for Romesh Ranganathan this Saturday (15th June).
-
Richie Anderson in for Dermot O' Leary this Saturday (15th June) and Saturday 29th June. Spoony in for Trevor Nelson on The Rhythm Nation for two weeks starting Monday 17th June Gaby Roslin in for Zoe Ball on the breakfast show for a week starting Monday 1st July OJ Borg in for Sara Cox on Monday 1st and Tuesday 2nd July Glastonbury weekend sees Dermot O'Leary live from Worthy Farm on Saturday 29th June 3-6pm, OJ Borg is on air from 8pm warming up for the headline slot (and I assume afterwards as well). Jo Whiley is live from Glastonbury on Sunday 30th June 5-8pm. Tina Daheley in for Jeremy Vine on Thursday 4th July.

Interesting to see Newsbeat presenters cover a show, although I think Pete Allison used to do some cover work for Radio 1 about 10 years ago?
-
Sting is the other headliner. I'd say that's about right for Radio 2, mostly 80's, 90's and 00's.
-
Rylan's there. His show today was pre recorded as a result.
-
I agree that OJ is a good listen. I don't think he'll get the breakfast show sadly... as there are several people who I think would be ahead of him in that regard, and I can't see Zoe going anywhere soon. It's a shame they haven't had him cover for Scott this week rather than Spoony.
-
Nikita Kanda is covering the weekend mid afternoon slot a few times over the next few weeks, as is Ore.
-
Vernon is also in panto this year, so he'll presumably have a spell away from Radio 2 around Christmas/New year.
-
I must have missed that yesterday, sorry! Scott did make the same tongue in cheek comment on today's show about Rylan. It's a shame Rylan isn't the go to cover for Scott, I assume his commitments away from R2 prevent that. I enjoyed his last cover stint. Spoony is the go to stand in for the mid afternoon slot (he's covering again week after next while Scott's off getting married). In that case, I think you're right!

Surely Arielle will be in with a shout for that after leaving early breakfast?
