I wonder when the press pack will be announced that has information about what will be on all the radio stations over Christmas will be announced? It’s normally around the same time as the TV one and that happened yesterday so I’d imagine that it will be at some point this week. I also don’t think it will be very long before the schedule starts to get announced either.

I wonder if Adele may become the main cover for Greg, they don’t seem to like taking presenters off their normal shows anymore to cover other shows and shes the only presenters now who won’t work Monday to Friday!

I think there are still a few unanswered questions and I wonder if anyone knows the answers to these?
Will Friday’s anthems be booted off or will Greg end up doing the first half hour of them?What will happen to Best New Pop? Will the new Friday presenters do it or will Mollie continue to pre record it?
Finally, I wonder what will happen to Party Anthems? I can’t see Matt and Mollie doing it so maybe Scott will get it back again?

6:00 As normalI don’t think that we’ll have a Scott Mills breakfast show this year due to the fact that Christmas falls on a Friday! Meaning that he’ll probably be doing the chart instead, I also can’t see there being that many changes compared to normal, mainly because the schedule has become more compact this year, so not needing as many cover presenters. What does everybody else think?

That’s a late change! Hope everything is ok with Jordan. Is Arielle double shifting tomorrow or is somebody going to cover her show?

To answer my own question, it looks like Scott’s actually on holiday that week. No one seems to be off on Radio 2

Is that because Scott is over on R2 again do you know or is he taking a holiday?
A bit of a shame to see Cel doing Arielle’s show and not some new talent but I suppose that’s what he meant when he said he was going to stay with Radio 1 -

Riyadh Khalaf is covering for Matt that weekend with Mollie. I did wonder whether we’d start to see him cover again soon since he’s won Masterchef! I wouldn’t be surprised to see him around on TV and radio a lot more in the next few months!

• Mollie is off so Matt is solo but it means that Best New Pop doesn’t launch until the following week and Arielle gets her show extended to 7am!
• Arielle seems to be doing Anthems on a Saturday morning from 6am but not sure if she’s also doing the other new shows (obviously it will be voice-tracked)Week Commencing 7th September:
• Rickie and Melvin are off so Yasmin Evans joins Charlie

Inspired by Graeme's post in the chat box, how have you all found the new temporary schedule content wise? I have found it very hit and miss if I'm being honest, Scott's show has been great and I have really enjoyed the quiz which I hope stays even when the schedule goes back to normal. It also feels like Scott is playing fewer songs than what he used to in his normal slot so that's another positive. But on the other hand, I have found Clara's shows really bland and so different to Scott's every other week. I think them having to alternate is the main reason that I want the schedule to return to normal.
At the weekend's, I do enjoy all three of Dev, Alice and Jordan even though I dislike them all only being on every 3 weeks, and also not having Dev and Alice on together. However, the content in all of their shows is good.
Finally, I hope that Jack gets to do his show live in the studio again soon as it's not the same recorded and also hope that Arielle gets her weekend shows back again soon properly and not just Anthems!
I'd also be interested to see what they decide to do with Maya's shows. Will Jordan just get them as expected, or could they possibly sign someone new? Or maybe even make a more drastic schedule change with many people being moved around?
I'd be interested to see everyone's views! -
Arielle seems to have her normal weekend early breakfast show back next week after it being just Anthems for the last month on Saturdays and Sundays. I’m guessing that this is due to the fact that more people will be heading off to work again, and so more might be listening during those times

Anyway, on another note, I could see them possibly continuing this schedule until around September time and then have a large change around of people that might be announced around July time. September would also mark the year of Weekend Early Breakfast and if they haven’t found that to be a success, then they’d have to find something else for Arielle to do, so maybe she could take over Maya?

They might be able to do Hide and Seek towards the end of the year, possibly October half term, because they seem to like to do it during holiday time?

Thank you for organising this! The results are very interesting but mostly what I expected really. Although I didn’t realise this forum had so much love for Arielle but I don’t think that’s a bad thing. I would be very happy for a future radio 1 schedule to look like that.

Actually quite excited about hearing the new schedule tomorrow. I’m really interested to hear what Jordans 4 hour show will be like especially as his is only 2 hours of actual content at the moment anyway.
Also, I can see on the schedule that the Anthems shows are being repeated on Easter Monday. Thus time an hour for each year from 2000 to 2014. No idea if their will be student radio presenters again though. But looking at the current world situation, I’m guessing not.

It will be interesting to see who does the weekend of the 2nd and 3rd as Dev has obviously left, I can’t see Matt and Mollie doing their final weekend breakfast shows then and I don’t think Adele or Arielle will work then as they would have new shows starting the week after.
I could potentially see:

I think that could possibly work, however I’ve really got no idea!
