It's sounding a little more childish and newsround in my opinion. I'm a sort-of fan of the main bed, but... that could just be a generic bed from their library, because that's how it sounds.

I built myself up for something that it really wasn't. The intro is too slow for a service such as Newsbeat in my opinion, and Radio 1 doesn't really do weather apart from in the breakfast bulletins. Listen, Watch Share is indeed dead, and what has replaced it is nothing but a generic-sounding piece of crap. It doesn't do Newsbeat justice.

In comparison to the Newsbeat package, the chart package is fairly new and so there's no real reason for it to change. I can't see anything on BBC Commissioning, and regardless, I highly doubt that it will be changing. "The Official Chart With Clara Amfo on BBC Radio 1". I'm sorry..... It's not as catchy.

In all honesty, I feel a little sad. The Radio 1 I woke up to is changing dramatically - while I like more of Grimmy than Moyles, I'm scared about what the future holds for radio in general. I'm getting goosebumps though just thinking about the possibilities. Here's to the 2015 jingle package *holds breath* *crosses fingers*

Hiya! I've had a look around for them on everywhere they should be, and I can't find them anywhere! It's unlikely, but have you tried reaching out directly to the people who commissioned the package (Music4, perhaps)?

When there are people like Gemma working at Radio 1, sometimes I wonder whether a lot of people genuinely do want to get into radio. There's so much better talent out there! Even putting Heather on from the phone lines of the breakfast show would be better...

I think it's poor effort to have pretty much a voicetracked show going out on New Year's Eve, especially when it's nine hours...

I agree; I find weekend radio boring. We need more female talent on aswell, but I'm finding that there aren't many strong women on Radio 1 really. And besides, whose idea was it to put three hours of chart music right next to three hours of rock music, and on a SUNDAY aswell?! Come on Radio 1, up your game.

Gah. Thanks for mentioning it though, hopefully he'll tweet me back. If only Radio 1 had an annual #R1NerdClub, where everyone went and got free stuff and "networked" with the familiar DJs and stuff. Ah, the stuff of dreams.

I think bringing in "fresh" content from student radio and various other places just for a show every year doesn't make much sense (where's the familiar voice the listeners are waking up to?). Hi all, I'm aware a few of you guys work at various roles within the BBC - good old Dom works at the BBC shop. A couple of months ago, I caught whiff of a rumour that some Radio 1 tops were being brought out on the BBC Shop? Any further updates on the situation greatly appreciated - and have a great new year! :-)
