It's a bit of a shambles how long it's taking. It was a weird time to promote Grimmy to breakfast, they usually only have schedule changes A Year between minimum not 6 months. So now he is trying to avoid making big changes and effectively it looks like there going to fill until Moyles returns and Fearne goes on Mat Leave. It was announced 7 and a Half weeks ago that Grimmy was taking over and we're none the wiser to the rest of the schedule. Is Annie doing Sunday Show on her own? Do we know?

Scott's on breakfast & Grimmy was featured heavily last week when Scott was on breakfast...

I wonder if Grimmy will be all over Scott's show again or he'll stay away from Radio 1 for the week... I did enjoy him on Scott's show last week

It's a real shame, but he's the wrong side of 30 for Cooper, I hope he ends up with some more shows on Absolute he's a really good DJ. Did he & Sam Hall get there chance when Parfitt was still in charge because it seems bizzare to let him cover early breakfast, do a really good job, recieve praise on all forums I've read to just freeze him out!

I may well be reading too much into this but I don't think Adam will be moving to R1 for two reasons 1. Ben Cooper is rallying against anybody old regardless of the quality of the presenter 2. In Adam's blog he says his dream is to go to Radio 1 but in his tweet today he said this offer was too tempting to say no to. If I was offered my dream job I wouldn't say its 'tempting' or even consider rejecting it. Anyway I might be reading too much into it. And sorry for sort of hijaking the thread but it is sort of on topic R.E Melvin's schedule, I'd still be surprised if they gave Phil 4 shows a week so soon it seems a little risky but you do point out that Dev is due a move away from earlies he has been there for a while now.

I don't mind Matt but I don't think that Ben Cooper is that keen on him, since he's taken over he's been sidelined in favour of Tom Deacon & Phil Taggart Adam has just tweeted that his new show can be heard across the country so it's a national radio station

I really hope so, Where else could he be going he left his local radio breakfast show so you'd guess it's somewhere big. Absolute or XFM are the big commercial ones which jump out at me..

Grimmy was a DJ who was clearly going places and was going to move onto bigger things than the 10PM it was obvious and as a result they tested him out on daytime eventually on both Greg + Scott's shows. However in my opinion 10PM is the glass ceiling for Huw unless he gets a move to 7PM but I really cannot see him moving to daytime his show isn't personality led but music led so it would be a bad move. He sounds a little out of place on weekends already. Moreover Huw is 31, out of the target audience and we know Cooper is obsessed with age (The demotions of Scott, Chris + the lack of Adam Catteral on the station are all proof of this) So I don't think Huw will ever see daytime so why change the schedule about for him to do cover? If he covers Scott age is not that much of a problem as a large proportion of the target audience are students at School or Uni so cannot listen. Also if Coxy is getting around 6 months on daytime I think Moyles being a year older doing a couple of weeks of cover here and there isn't unlikely...

I agree that Greg will cover Grimmy, a girl for Coxy probably Gemma, but I disagree with Greg + Scott. I can't see Dev on Drivetime he might cover Scott + why would Huw cover Scott if he had a weekday slot as he's not going to ever end up on daytime IMO so it would be pointless and needlessly disrupt the schedule. So I can see Moyles covering Greg and maybe Scott as well.

If Moyles stays at Radio 1 I think we will definitely hear him in some covering capacity or Cooper is a bigger fool than he's already showing himself to be. If we're right in 2013 Coxy & Huw will have weekday slots. So by sheer necessity I think Moyles will do some cover. Greg covering Grimmy seems likely. I can't see charisma free Danny Howard becoming full time drive cover. So there is basically Dev, Gemma, and Moyles who are the cover options. I don't think Dev has been on daytime since Cooper took over and Gemma hasn't either. He doesn't seem against the idea he jokingly offered to cover Fearne's show.

They are taking there time with the announcement, Phil's announcement that he's moving to London just a radio 1 have a schedule reshuffle did seem a little too convient to be a coincedence. I think evening is between Huw who's surely the favourite, Phil Taggart although I think it would be too soon for him, Edmondson has provided occasional cover for Grimmy but new music isn't really his thing and Moyles of course is the big question mark and is in with a chance. They also need someone to replace Grimmy + Annie's joint show unless they opt for the same person for weekdays and sundays. If anybody but Moyles takes over there is another gap to plug in the schedule. There is also the added complication of who will cover Coxy for 6 months or so. I imagine we will get one Schedule pre Fearne's mat leave + without Moyles and a new one to come into effect when Fearne goes on leave with Moyles. (Feb?) With Moyles covering daytime from the new year til Feb. I predict: September: Huw on evenings, Phil Taggart on weekend Afternoons Feburary: Phil to take Coxy's slot + Moyles on weekend Afternoons Then depending on how well Phil does & what the average age is of the listeners he can scrap Phil, Vernon, Coxy or Moyles fairly easily. We'll probably end up finding out around September 23rd

Good for Grimmy for coming out

I've not really listened much to Greg since he's taken over drivetime what I've heard has been OK but when Grimmy covered it was very good. I've broadened my horizons though Simon Mayo (Radio 2), Eoghan McDermott (XFM) & Geoff Lloyd (Absolute). All do very good Drive Time shows but annoyingly they all start at 5.00 not 4.00.

In the most recent RAJARS Dave Berry had more listeners then Chris Moyles in London (The area where Berry broadcasts)

Is Jameela covering all weekend for Gemma or just Sunday? If it's just Sunday it does seem a little pointless to not be doing her own show in favour of effectively a graveyard shift.

I'd have thought they might have bothered to announce at least what is happenning when he is on Superstar, it's getting rather close now to September

With Grimmy moving to breakfast both Scott + Greg will need somebody else to cover their shows and we don't know who will cover Grimmy on breakfast either. Who do you think/want to do this? I think Scott will cover Grimmy, Moyles to cover Greg, Coxy for Fearne, and Dev/Huw to cover Scott Although Greg could cover breakfast as well. I hope they find someone better than Huw or Dev for Scott maybe Coxy she has a brilliant rapport with Beccy.

It makes sense really. Although Ben Cooper was keen for a new breakfast DJ for the new school/college year and I'll be 3 weeks in by the time Grimmy starts.

Greg posted this on facebook... Just found out listening figures for the new Drivetime show went up lots since I started in April. Happy happy boy. Thank you all for bothering to listen - without you I'd just be a mentalist in a room talking to myself. I AM that but the fact people are listening kind of makes it OK. Just. It might not mean his figures are higher than Scott's it could conceivably mean that his figures have gone up since he moved to drive or am I clutching at straws?

Not enough news content, too laddish were the main accusations. I enjoy his show personally though. Whilst I'm not saying Moyles couldn't do a show on 5live I think there listeners would cause a fuss, he hasn't come from a news background and he can be seen as laddish if you get your information from the Mail! Apparently Christian O Connel (Absolute Radio's breakfast presenter) has said that Dave will be joining Absolute. There were also some speculation that Moyles might join 5live however I cannot see that. Mainly due to the fact that I heard an interview with the 5live controller who having to defend Richard Bacon's show to lots of angry listeners. I can't see him hiring Chris someone in a similar vein to Bacon

I think I've said this before but weekends are awful at the moment. They really need an established name to anchor the schedule such as Jo Whiley 18 months ago and they had Edith until 6 months ago. This is why I think we need Mr. Moyles on at 1.00 or 10.00. I can't abide Gemma she really isn't my cup of tea. I tend to veer away from saying this person is a bad DJ or shouldn't be at the station as everyone has different taste. But the amount of negative comments on forums compared to the 1 or 2 positive comments is quite telling. I hope she doesn't get near daytime. I don't like Vernon hopefully he will leave in Coopers cuts due to his age (according to his wiki he is leaving in September but there is no citation) I love Coxy but I'm worried that she is going to be pushed out to R2 in the near future. Huw, very nice man & I always enjoy it when he covers for Zane. But he is not right for daytime his features are boring, he isn't very engaging. His unknown new music also feels out of place in the middle of the day. Jo used to promote new songs from new bands but they were more like future playlist material or songs which radio 1 had snubbed and it worked much better. Danny Howard not my cup of teas his pop remixes and lack of features. He is hardly engaging either. Will this year's superstar DJ take his slot? I'd rather this show was on at 7PM aswell it seems out of place. I can take or leave the chart show, it has got better since the top 10 went onto your labtop even if they do go on about it a bit. I was surprised by how much I have enjoyed Jameela's show and I liked it when she covered for Gemma. Grimmy & Annie are fantastic together, I wish Annie was on breakfast with him and I hope she at least pops up on the breakfast show from time to time. All in all it's bad. If coxy heads off along with Grimmy + Annie it will get a lot worse.

It's a shame that they seem intent on not letting Grimmy be Grimmy. Obviously they want him to sound different to Moyles. But bar Moyles & Scott, utilises a team the most of the DJs on Radio 1. He even co-hosts a show with Annie. Apart from Moyles, Grimmy is the only DJ who will criticize the music or other people. (He launched a tirade against Christina Aguliera on his Sunday Show with Annie a few months back). I'm worried people will accuse him of copying Moyles
