  1. Laura wouldda been better for that, way back in the day... couldda made up part of the ONWL tour/competition
  2. I'm confused... volunteers generally, um, DON'T get paid apart from maybe travel costs... like Moyles being the Saviour... wait, does that mean that Moyles is Mills' son?:crazy:
  3. Ahh, thanks for clearing up that urban myth. Last time I listen to the streets. That's odd, I always thought of them more as Lemons...
  4. I'm just surprised Once... is enough wasn't used for one of those puns...
  5. See I thought when it came out he actually LIKED Crazy Frog and was one of those people who had it as his ringtone etc, has he actually gone off it since? Massive task today, can't help agreeing with Chris that they haven't thought it through and should have left this til Friday really... most of us would get knackered and wrecked after one building's worth (I know I do when I choose to go up 7 floors worth of steps in my building instead of taking the lift), he's gonna need a week off to recover after this...
  6. I'm betting Viv probably sings better, and a lot more.
  7. Yeah but how many newer artists are now going down the Myspace route or being completely independent? If anything from what I can tell it's the ones who have made the millions who DO have a problem with downloading, aside from Radiohead, Nine Inch Nails etc. Anyone remember Lily Allen's rant and how she said she was quitting music over it? I'm not so sure artists DO actually need greedy record labels who take the lion's share of the profit and give artists very little anymore. Hell I used to work with a guy who was in a band and he said he'd rather give away the actual music online etc and make the money from touring, and that's by no means something he's alone on. It's the record companies that have the problem even though they're still raking it in, and if they tell one of their artists (Lily Allen, for example) to speak out against it, possibly with threats to their contract etc, is it any surprise we have these artists conveniently speaking out. I'm also sure it doesn't need to be said yet again that downloading would probably be cut if they brought down the prices. Itunes has helped somewhat with this.
  8. Yep and the record companies continue to whinge about how they're 'losing out' so badly... same as the movie studios who bring out movies that break (and by break I mean absolutely trample) previous records and complain the same thing... I mean hasn't the new Alice movie already beaten the point Avatar was at this long after release?
  9. I don't see him on TV much at the moment? just sayin.
  10. this just confirms all my negative opinions of any 'talent' brought to the public by Xfactor... Chuff. Couldn't even stand to listen to it Once...
  11. An excuse for him to make money and also get more media exposure for something positive, nooo, that would never happen...
  12. Not if the BBC Trust listen to all the campaigns that are going on to save it... it's not the DGs decision and it's still up for 'consultation' last I heard. Optimism  It's not something I have bouts of too often, but in this case, for whatever reason, I do.
  13. Basically it's for Footy fans (although I guess it would apply to any sport) but means a fan wearing the shirt/strip etc of their favourite team's fiercest rivals. Mainly famous fans, but I don't see why us normos could also do it and get sponsored. http://www.sportrelief.com/whats-on/news/danny-bakers-shirt-hurt EG: A Man United Fan wearing an Arsenal or Chelsea Shirt. For me, it would probably mean wearing a McLaren-Mercedes Shirt to a Grand Prix or something... I'd be careful about saying you love things forced down your throat around here though
  14. I don't think it will quite happen for Whiley though, aside little guest appearances talking about music or in behind-the-scenes docos about Doctor Who. Much rather hear her on a surviving and thriving 6Music really, back to what she made her name doing on Radio 1.
  15. That said, I do like the whole Danny Baker Shirt Of Hurt thing that 5Live has going, but maybe that's partly because they don't feel the need to constantly thrust it down the audience's throats, although they do have guests like Chappers on talking about it.
  16. Oh.. loaded up Aled's FB for me... hmm.
  17. Well if they now have time to film stuff, why not? Whiley's old slot wasn't exactly ideal for having her film stuff that could take an entire day, same with the lunchtime and afternoons.
  18. Yeah I think that happened once, he had to ring one of the team while Dave filled in on-air?
  19. Yes, you seem good at that, maybe we should sponsor you for that instead of the Mile?
